Re: too much latency
Do you happen to know how can I lower the frames? "jackd -d alsa --help" gives: -p, --period Frames per period (default: 1024) -n, --nperiods Number of periods of playback latency (default: 2) so you could try -p 256 -n 2 Sometimes it seems "-n 3" works better for onboard soundc...

Re: too much latency
Welcome! The answer lies in the jack (or specifically alsa) settings: configuring for 48000Hz, period = 1024 frames (21.3 ms), buffer = 2 periods that's 21.3ms latency, far too much to play guitar. You can try lowering the frames, to 256 or so, but I really doubt your built-in soundcard can do much ...

Jack transport support, to be precise. It's in the blueprint already.Louigi Verona wrote:I don't know what do you mean by JACK integration,

Re: Polyrhythmic Sequencer?
The latest development version of harmonySEQ does polyrhythms. And control sequences. It's still missing some important features (like Jack integration) but they're in the pipeline, and I'm very excited about it.

Re: German public domain children songs
For the non-germans to understand why this is important: The GEMA, a society similar to ASCAP and BMI in the US, suddenly decided that all kindergardens must pay for singing childrens songs.

Re: Rakarrack and live guitar processing (bass)
Originally I was thinking a rack shelf or drawer in my amp head case (mark bass sd700). Now I am thinking what the hell why not just get a laptop stage stand. Kind of like a sheet music stand but for the laptop/netbook. That's actually a great idea. You could also use it to display notes, lyrics, w...

Re: Rakarrack and live guitar processing (bass)
I was wondering about bass vibrations and the computer. Hmm, how to solve that without increasing floorspace foot print...??? Well, get a SSD instead of a hard disk, and then perhaps some form of shock-mounting. You could for example place it on four small soft foam pads (small, to ensure air circu...

Re: Rakarrack and live guitar processing (bass)
I just need to figure a safe way to set the netbook on stage above the amp. Heat might become a problem, and vibration could damage the HD. An SSD would help. I wonder what the effective range of those wireless number pads are...??? I'm guessing here, but the 2,4GHz thingies should be okay on a nor...

Re: Rakarrack and live guitar processing (bass)
Because you're very likely to overload the input, causing distortion. Perhaps just a little analog limiter, for safety. If you compress a bit before going into the effects, they have more level to work on.

Re: Rakarrack and live guitar processing (bass)
I can't really comment on the whole live-fx thing, but I would strongly suggest you use a dedicated (analog) compressor/limiter before going anywhere near a computer, especially when slapping.

Re: KXStudio - Carla
Yes, it does what it's supposed to, and works well. A few things: 1. Could you implement a mouse behavior option for the knobs please? Trying to draw circles on a touchpad is really no fun. An option "linear vertical, linear horizontal, rotary" would be great. 2. A stereo link button for t...

Re: Klaudia on Arch, need help
In normal mode, none of the installed DAWs apparently support any form of plugin. In debug mode, basically everything is double, and it is impossible to really check the information. I'd suggest handling it through bug tracking, i.e. correct the information as it comes from users, especially since m...

Re: KXStudio - Carla
That would require someone to do a PKGBUILD first... I'm sure there are a lot of people here more capable than me of doing this, but if for some reason no-one shouts "Here!", I guess I'll dig into it. Is ladish on Arch already..? Yes, it's in the AUR: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php...
