Re: [SOLVED] - Mackie ProFX10v3 problems
Well, it seems like we have some things in common, you say you're not exactly young, I'm not totally old, (I don't know if the kids in my neighborhood would agree with that) , it seems like we like the same music, I've been looking at your SounCloud, and I think I've played almost all the the...

Re: Problem with Mackie ProFx10v3
There is only one problem left: the changes are not persistent, every time I turn the PC off and on again I have to unplug the USB connections, run the code and plug the devices back in for everything to work. Could you explain to me how to make the changes permanent? Ah.. I was under impression th...

Re: [SOLVED] - Mackie ProFX10v3 problems
Hi, I'm a Linux Slackware user. I'm still with lilo as boot loader as I'm ditching modern stuff like GRUB, UEFI or systemd as much as possible. Unless you use a particular setup (e.g. luks ) compiling and running a new kernel shouldn't be problematic. The most complex part could be building the ini...

Re: Problem with Mackie ProFx10v3
Again, I ain't no expert on kernel modules, but it appears that there's a problem if two (audio) devices want to load/use the same module in the kernel. This may or may not have to do with the fact that one device needs an option that the other doesn't... My advice: do NOT connect the Piano via an ...

Re: Problem with Mackie ProFx10v3
Well, after this you have already achieved something, now the inputs and outputs of the device appear, :D this is already a triumph. But there is still a problem now the sound comes intermittently and when you listen to it it is distorted. :? This also happens on the piano (now USB:4) and on the PoF...

Re: Problem with Mackie ProFx10v3
[/quote] Try to unplug all USB audio devices before unloading the module. [/quote] I'm sorry I didn't notice your name. Ok, puleglot, I have unplugged the devices and I have also stopped Jack, I don't know if I did it right, now: $ modprobe -r snd_usb_audio modprobe: ERROR: ../libkmod/libkmod-module...

Re: Problem with Mackie ProFx10v3
I don't know what you want to do: record your playing on the piano on the Mackie? The Piano itself is already an audio device (i.e. like a sound card). In theory you don't need an extra audio device (i.e. the Mackie) for that. I ain't no expert on the USB kernel module (you'd call that a driver in ...

puleglot wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2024 2:17 pmYes, the quirk was not applied for some reason. Could you try to do this manually?
Code: Select all
# modprobe -r snd_usb_audio # modprobe snd_usb_audio vid=0x0a73 pid=0x0023 quirk_flags=0x20
I have a problem:
Code: Select all
modprobe -r snd_usb_audio
modprobe: FATAL: Module snd_usb_audio is in use.- Mon Mar 04, 2024 2:22 pm

... the results are always the same, the Roland piano works perfectly as soon as I plug it in, the Mackie ProFx10v3 never works. Please post dmesg output after plugging in ProFx10v3. It will show if quirk is indeed was applied. Sorry, I was talking about an image that I had not posted. The dmesg ou...

Re: Problem with Mackie ProFx10v3
If you have several USB audio devices connected, then you need something like this: options snd_usb_audio vid=0x0a73 pid=0x0023 quirk_flags=0x20 Also note that latest LTS and stable kernels have a workaround for this firmware bug. Wait a minute. Is the Roland Piano he's talking about an audio devic...

Re: [SOLVED] - Mackie ProFX10v3 problems
I confirm that with the kernel 6.6.20 the mixer works like a charm without any particular setup. Hello, I am trying to solve the same problem with this device, can you tell me which Linux distribution you use? The truth is that I have no experience in changing the default kernel in the distribution...

Re: Problem with Mackie ProFx10v3
You can try to stop Jack and restart it for device 3 (notice: after a re-start of Linux the device number might have changed). Stop Jack: pkill -9 jackdbus killall jackd Now start Jack again w/ the aforementioned command. I hope it'll work. If not then I hope that de developer of Ubuntu Studio is a...

Do you have a link? Yes, is here: https://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?t=26699 However, I've got a sneakin' suspicion that your distro uses PipeWire so somebody else should help you. The truth is that I don't know if Ubuntu Studio uses PipeWire, as far as JackAudio is concerned I can say that i...

[SOLVED] Problem with Mackie ProFx10v3
A few days ago I bought a new Mackie ProFx10v3 mixer, which for my needs is a perfect size and features. The device works very well and has good sound quality (after having to return two devices due to poor quality sound). Seeing that they were giving away software compatible with Linux made me thin...
