Re: Control Your DAW With A Game Controller Using Xboxdrv.

An alternative solution is AntimicroX, which is still maintained. I use it regularly with my wireless Xbox 360 Controller and occasionally with my DualShock 4.

Re: LSP momo sampler

To my understanding, you need to load the samples with different velocities into each slot, marked as Sample 0-7. So, you load the sample with the loudest drum hit as Sample 0 and the softest as Sample 7. (In the screenshot, click on Sample 0 to switch between slots, which is on the left, under MIDI...

Re: What's your workflow?

If you are using Zenity it could be linked to this bug: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/zenity/-/issues/80 Bespoke Synth can use also kdialog or the JUCE native file chooser dialog (very minimal), depending on what is found on the system. Oh, you're right. I have Zenity installed, indeed. And if I r...

Re: What's your workflow?

What do y'all use to "save" your work: do you record the audio or the Midi (notes)? Some of us even use music notation software and export it as Midi. What software/DAW do you use? BespokeSynth has a feature that allows you to export whatever has been played in the last 30 minutes (this t...

Re: What's your workflow?

Like LAM mentioned a while ago in this thread, I've also switched from Ardour to Bespoke, and I've come to like it very much. Ardour still has advantages in specific areas (multichannel I/O for plugins, MIDI regions with separate MIDI channels etc.), but in Bespoke, I find it quicker to jump right i...

Re: Running smart device app on Linux.

Is that Roland app made to run on Android? If so, you could try Waydroid or something listed here. (I haven't tried any of them, so I don't know how reliable they are.)

[Ambient] A Dark Room Illuminated By A Personal Computer

Here's another generative ambient track made in Bespoke!

Compared to my previous two, this is less minimal and more atmospheric. I also relied more on Bespoke's own modules, and plugins are only used as limiters and various effects.

Recording available on Funkwhale and SoundCloud.

Enjoy!

Hi guys!
I am not able to connect... it seems that the link doesn't work anymore. Anyone else?

Brian

Hi Brian,

I can connect through the link mentioned in the OP of this thread. Although I'm all alone here at the moment.

Edit: Oh, I see you meant https://jitsi.debian.social/linuxmusicians

Re: [Ambient] Dreamy Electronics

Wished I could work with Bespoke too... but it seems so complex at first sight. It is complex when you're new to Bespoke (or modular in general), but once you get the hang of it, it's a lot of fun. Feel free to ask any questions in one of the support boards, and I'll do my best to help. (Among othe...

Re: MOD Desktop

I've just tried it. I like the idea of having the UI of all the loaded plugins visible on the canvas, while also being able to zoom in/out the whole view. Also, while I generally prefer native GUIs to webapps, I can see one potential advantage here: the main window as well as the web browser (where ...

[Ambient] Dreamy Electronics

Here's a generative ambient track made in Bespoke: Dreamy Electronics. I believe this is actually based on the first song I ever completed. Well... I considered it 'complete' at the time in early 2022, and released a short version of it a few months later. The original was also generative, thanks to...

Re: [Ambient] Intergalactic Warmth (2024 Version)

After hearing more rap tunes than usual this week, while listening to your piece, I thought, some rapper could use this as a cool backing, so I fired up a thumpy 90bpm kit in hydrogen, added rakarrak and a guitar, and it worked well. So the beginning need not be the middle or the end... It's cool y...

[Ambient] Intergalactic Warmth (2024 Version)

Here's an updated version of a minimalistic ambient track I made with Carla and a few plugins in 2022. Actually, that was one of the first projects I worked on while learning how to make music with FOSS tools. In hindsight, I don't find it terribly exciting: it was just a few seconds of drone with o...

Unfamiliar Velocities

Here's my first song release announcement on this forum, and also the first full-length song I've ever made in Bespoke. It's an instrumental trance song inspired by trance music from the late 90s and early 2000s (one of my favourite styles). Available on Funkwhale and SoundCloud for free, under CC B...

What's the purpose of PipeWire's dynamic quantum setting?

I see that PipeWire can change the buffer size for applications dynamically, and you can set the minimum and maximum as well as the default quantum as mentioned here . My question is, when does this dynamic change actually happen? My understanding is that when the default quantum is set and a JACK a...
