Re: Need Help With Installing Addictive Drums On Reaper For Ubuntu Studio (Linux, x86)

Also wanted to add that if anyone is using Reaper and go this to work, please share how you got this to work.

I don't care for Ardour since I never liked that DAW as it is flat out un-intuitive and just hard to use from just a simple musician's perspective.

Re: Questions About Limiting Pads Only For Drum Based Plugins, Assigning Keys to Synths, And Using Daw Controls In Ardou

Hey there, necroing an old thread of mine. So I finally got to trying this out, and although I was able to limit the 'Channel Selector' to be Channel 10 for drums for Red Zeppelin drum kit for input and output, I noticed one thing: From lowest C to middle C on my Keylab 61 keyboard, I can STILL hit ...

Re: Questions About Limiting Pads Only For Drum Based Plugins, Assigning Keys to Synths, And Using Daw Controls In Ardou

Thanks everyone, I'll check this out over the weekend in Ardour and see if I can separate the MIDI channels accordingly with the Arturia Keylab Essentials 61 manual as well. Only thing I can think of is that it might be harder since most of these MIDI devices are geared towards Windoze DAWs, etc, bu...

Re: Questions About Limiting Pads Only For Drum Based Plugins, Assigning Keys to Synths, And Using Daw Controls In Ardou

From the manual it looks like you can assign the pads to a different midi channel from the keys. For example if your keys are on channel 1 then have your synth plugins in the DAW also on midi channel 1. Reassign your pads to channel 2 and then have your drum plugin also on channel 2. But how do I s...

Re: Can the Linux Reaper load Windows VST plugins?

I think this video might help you out, its basically a video in which the dude goes over how to use 'Carla' to load 'VST' style plugins in Reaper on Linux. I think he's using Lubuntu, but the same idea applies, as long as you're using a Debian or Ubuntu based Linux distro, I think you should be fine...

Questions About Limiting Pads Only For Drum Based Plugins, Assigning Keys to Synths, And Using Daw Controls In Ardour

Hey there, So I'm still a mid-tier newbie when it comes to using Ardour. I used Reaper for a long time on Windows and Linux and switched to Ardour maybe a few months ago. I basically know how to add tracks, change inputs to the existing MIDI keyboard I have aka the Arturia KeyLab Essential 61, and a...

But really, is there an easy way to change my username?

I can't figure out how to do this.

Re: Best Linux Distros To Run In A VM For Audio Recording?

I would strongly recommend using Ubuntu Studio - quite similar to Xubuntu as it comes with XFCE, which I do love :-D as it is a very solid GUI. It comes with a lot of Linux music software pre-installed. Not sure how this would work in a VM. If you are very sure about this VMs thing, you may want to...

Re: Best Linux Distros To Run In A VM For Audio Recording?

Hey there everyone, Forgot to mention that I'm running Manjaro Linux as the 'host'. The reason I'm doing this method is that for that PC, I like to containerize things on that particular drive, so I would prefer VM's in this scenario. If you guys could link me how I could enable pass-through VM requ...

Question Regarding Hooking Up Multiple Virtual Machines To Each Other

Hey there, Was wondering, is it possible to hook up audio between KVM Virtual Machines to one another so that they can be sequenced in time? Wanted to explore this kind of craziness, but didn't know how to start. I wanted to maybe get a VM of some old Amiga software running old school trackers to so...
