Thanks for the detailed replies. I've read (some of) those links already but will give them a more detailed look.
I'd never heard of kxstudio... maybe I'll look into that too!

Re: How to send midi clock from Hydrogen?
I think you've got it the wrong way around. Or at least, it's the beatstep that sends midi to hydrogen to trigger sounds. You do need to have both in and out midi connected. To get hydrogen to make it run, you'll need to set the clock on the beatstep to USB and make jack the clock source for all ap...

How to send midi clock from Hydrogen?
I have a pattern playing in Hydrogen and would like it to trigger a sequence on my Keystep connected to a soft synth. In Hydrogen I have the midi preferences set as follows: ss-20-13-44-2022-02-10.png According to the Hydrogen docs: "Output: selects the device Hydrogen will send MIDI messages t...

Re: UBUNTU STUDIO FOR AMD
Studio is a complete OS so you don't need to install anything beforehand. Maybe try disconnecting any non-essential hardware during install (ie anything other than keyboard, mouse & monitor) to isolate the problem?

[Solved] Getting live audio into Giada
EDIT: This has inexplicably solved itself! On boot today, starting Qjackctl then Giada now has 'system' in the input options. Marking as solved although there's no explanation! Can someone tell me where I'm going wrong, I can't get any live audio into Giada. This is my setup: Arturia Keystep with m...

Re: How to play midi over USB?
Thanks for the suggestion. Might be better if I look to get a combined USB/Midi audio interface though - already starting to get too many cables and boxes for my liking!

Re: How to play midi over USB?
Yes, kind of negates the whole point of physical hardware.oscillator wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 12:22 pm I hate that more and more hardware synths have extra features that can only be accessed using proprietary software running on Win/MacOS.
Maybe you can ask them if there is a SysEx that can activate the function?

Re: How to play midi over USB?
I've had a reply from Arturia tech support as follows: Unfortunately there isn't a way on the unit itself , you need to use the MIDI Control Center. I will pass your suggestion as a Feature Request so they implement this option on a future Firmware Update. I don't fancy using a VM or Wine to run the...

Re: How to play midi over USB?
Thanks for the help. Unfortunately, that section of the manual concerns their software which doesn't run natively on Linux. I've asked Arturia if there's any way to set 'midi thru' from the keyboard itself... fingers crossed.

How to play midi over USB?
I have a KeyStep connected to PC via USB and a Volca FM connected to the KeyStep via midi cable.
Is it possible to compose a track in MusE's pianoroll and send it to the Volca via the KeyStep? If so, how do I set up the tracks in MusE, I can't figure it out?
TIA

Re: MusE - How to sync sequencer tracks?
Thanks again. Looking in Settings->Midi Port/Soft Synths I see this info in the bottom part of the dialog box which seems to indicate that I can send to the KeyStep: ss-07-47-40-2021-04-28.png I've tried creating a midi track, setting the KeyStep as the output port/device (MIDI 1) and added some not...

Re: MusE - How to sync sequencer tracks?
It isn't clear from your description if you have any midi connection between the Arturia step and MusE? This subject is a bit hairy and it can take a few tries before you get it right. But in short, midi connection in between and find a common sync protocol to test. Thank you for the very helpful r...

MusE - How to sync sequencer tracks?
Hello, complete newb to MusE here, hope someone can give me a clue to how to do this... First, my simple setup is like this: Arturia Keystep -> Volca FM -> Behringer Uphoria UM2 -> MuseE and I can record audio with no problems. Lets say the first sequence is a repeating bass-line and I'd like to tri...
