Re: AVL MXE 32bit - Where is the installer?

Hi! It's 'Glen' by the way... but I've been called much worse than Greg... :D Oh no! I'm so sorry I recalled that wrongly! Yeah could have been much worse! Haha :-))) Thanks for getting back to me. Somehow I don't get notified on this forum when someone answers, need to check my settings I guess. B...

Re: AVL MXE 32bit - Where is the installer?

Well, update on theme usage: When I just bootet in to AVLinux I realized that I just don't like the Materia Die Hard Theme - and that was the first reason why I even started to fiddle around with desktop settings. I am back to using Earth Flora (the green one) - and I also found that the QT5 version...

Re: AVL MXE 32bit - Where is the installer?

Hi again GMaq , the intention of my question about when you gonna package the next version of AVLinux was actually about "how much time do I have until I should write to you with some feedback" :-) I'll try to do this now and hope it is useful. First of all: thanks a lot for bringing out a...

Re: AV.Linux Setting keyboard layout

thanks for your answers - in the meantime I found it. Somehow my system setting did not work - setting it again with the regular keyboard setting tool did the trick. also some things were strange with the mac keyboard layout I chose (my external keyboard has a mac layout) - I now went back to just c...

AV.Linux Setting keyboard layout

Hi, embarrassed having to ask such a simple question, but how to set the keyboard layout in AV.Linux MX Edition?

Tried setting it via keyboard and system keyboard settings in the menu but still it is the US english default setup.

Thanks for any hints!

DiscoDOS 1.0 released - DJ Vinyl Geek Alert!

The final 1.0 version of DiscoDOS was just released. I am very happy to announce this on linuxmusicians.com, probably the best audience for a rather geeky and unique type of software like this. DiscoDOS is a command line tool that helps Vinyl DJs to organise their set-lists, find out key and BPM and...

Re: AVL MXE 32bit - Where is the installer?

Hi GMaq , thanks a lot for getting back to me. Yes I did read your announcements and also found the info about where to find the installer in the Openbox menu. Unfortunately the installer entry is missing in the menu. Maybe something happened when you packaged this 32bit version? (Dec. 2020). Thanks...

Re: AVL MXE 32bit - Where is the installer?

There is no Installer on the desktop, nor one in the application menus, nor is there a command starting with mx- that is an installer. What am I missing? I read this doc. On page 11 it states that there is an installer, but it isn't: http://bandshed.net/pdf/AVL-MXE-User-Manual.pdf It would help if s...

Re: Debian based studio distro?

Hi, thanks a lot for your hints, I finally decided that I want to try AVLinux, but I am having a hard time installing it. I can't find the installer on the 32bit Live iso I just booted. It's not on the desktop, nor anywhere to be found in the menus. also no luck trying cli commands starting with mx-...

AVL MXE 32bit - Where is the installer?

The topic tells it all: I have just booted AVL MXE 2020-12-07 iso. I want to install to harddisk. I can't find the MX-Installer application that is talked about in the docs, the website.
thanks for any hints.

Debian based studio distro?

Hi, I am thinking about switching my "main" Linux installation over from Ubuntu Studio 18.04 to the newest KXStudio or any other Debian based distro. Or even installing a regular Debian stable and then putting KXStudio packages on top of it. Reasons/Requirements: - Doing my regular Debian ...
