Re: [ANN] LSP Consumer survey!

There should be an option to skip some answers, I can't state the value of Flanger bcz I don't use it.

Re: Roland AIRA S-1 compact tweak synth

I take it that you connected it via USB, not via the mini-jack Midi output and input ports on the back: they need a converter cable (page 7 from the manual) from tip/ring/sleeve (TRS) mini-jack to 5 pin DIN-Midi (may this cheap one from Aliexpress will work). You-re right - connected via USB, I don...

Re: Roland AIRA S-1 compact tweak synth

Thank you for the info. That synth is so "affordable" and feature that I almost bought it even though I have too many cheap mono-synths already. How does it "present" itself to Linux via the USB cable? As an audio device (i.e. like a sound card) or also as MIdi? Didn't try to re...

Roland AIRA S-1 compact tweak synth

Despite everything I've read about AIRA series issues with Linux - S-1 USB audio output works right out of the box with kernel 6.4.6. Can't check latency now but everything seems fine. I think it is the only affordable hardware synth with digital output. IDK about other AIRA devices in this series b...

Re: Equalizer with background picture?

There is hardly any. Try to play with window opacity, it can be done with window manager. Open the picture in any image viewer and place the EQ on top of it, then change EQ window opacity/transparency to 50% to start. How to do it depends on the specific DE.

Re: pipewire BS

No problems here in Debian land. A fresh install just works. Don't get me wrong this works when I am mixing and recording but if I have to open up a browser just to go to YouTube and then I hit play, the snap crackle pop begins. I had the same problem - everything was fine until I start watching YT...

Re: Sitala no more Linux support

As far as I know - only one person in u-he works on everything Linux related, same with TAL. And we have imho better Apisonic Speedrum, and again it's just one person.
Maybe the situation in far from perfect but looks like Sitala is just side project for the dev.

Did someone try Aurora FM? There is no native Linux version but author claims that it works under Wine.

Wavetable generator

It started as a generator of a single type of waveform, but along the way, I became curious and added a bunch of other things. The resulting wavetables can be loaded into anything available in Linux - Surge XT, Vital, Hive 2, Bitwig. It is hard to explain everything, better to check the graphs on gi...

Re: Best small screen DAW -- seeking recommendations

Caustic 3 has nearly all of that, and is usable on phone screen. Only thing missing is VST (are there any android vst plugins available?), and audio recording & editing is limited to drum machine, pcm synth and vocoder, but I suppose you could use those to play for example vocals. I have tried ...
