Re: AV Linux Backlight and desktop
It wasn’t using systemd so I’ve changed things so it’s using that but its made no difference. The baclight app is set for normal backlight with everything turned up but the result is the same: dim screen when charger plugged in, brighter screen when charger unplugged. Interesting, changing settings ...

Re: AV Linux Backlight and desktop
Thx.
I’m not able to look right now as away from home but will check when I get back. It’s just the default install, haven’t changed anything other than switched to the NVIDIA drivers.
Alt-drag, thanks

AV Linux Backlight and desktop
Anyone else had this issue - backlight on laptop is very dim. I've got NVIDIA drivers loaded. Backlight in the desktop settings (check box) cannot be applied/saved. You can check the box but then you can't click apply. Other backlight settings I've found have no affect. ?? Also I've found that certa...

Re: Audiogridder
Just a follow up. The AudioGridder setup using Linux for DAW/plugin host and Mac (and with Windows in Parallels) setup works pretty well. There's the occasional hiccough with plugin windows not closing but it has proved to be reasonably solid. Particularly I like to run sampling sessions where I set...

Re: Looking for Ubuntu Studio audio production tutor
Sorry for bumping an old thread but this one would be of interest to anyone using Ubuntu Studio. I wouldn't recommend using qjack ctl at all, although I know some people do like using it still. Ever since Studio Controls came in there's really no need to use it though. IMO it's far easier and more t...

Re: Audiogridder
How does is compare to running netjack? It's a totally different way of working. Audiogridder will make the GUI of the plugin from the remote server appear directly within you plugin host - Ardour or whatever, whereas with netjack you have to open a terminal on your host, run netjack, then do all t...

What on earth has made you choose Vorbis when you're sharing a file you want people to easily listen to?

Re: Synths similar to Razor with Dissonance Effects
I think you’re hinting that you’ve put a pitch envelope on 7 oscillators, each playing a sine wave?(I can’t hear your example: on phone atm and it won’t play vorbis files). There’s a lot more going on in Razor than that.

Re: Synths similar to Razor with Dissonance Effects
I dont think you can modulate harmonics in that way in Zyn. The additive engine creates a fixed waveform which you then use via various synthesis methods whether they be subtractive, PM/FM or a combination. You could try to get something similar with PM but PM has its own distinct sound. You can get...

Re: Crossover plugin?
Thanks for creating the plugin, going to be SO useful for Multiband distortion etc. I've not upgraded yet but will be using in my next mixdown to do some phase trickery on the kick lowend and some saturaton on the mids.n Have you also created the 'opposite' process i.e. in channel re-combine to ster...

Re: New Convolver
Perhaps could but GSi are a commercial outfit so I don't think they'd do it. I don't neccessarily see using out of date libraries as a 'fix' either. I know he's used an available FFT library and if it's like the delay plugin it will ask for contact details - I don't know as I've not tried it yet but...
