Re: Guitarix.vst v0.1 released

Tramp, I recall you mentioning the jcm800pre in the past. I believe you'd mentioned it was going to get cleaned up. Is this the reason it's not in the VST?

Thank you for making this!

Re: nux mg-30 usb latency

I find the commands a bit easier to manage than config files. But there's no right or wrong way to do things. Glad you're up and running!

Re: nux mg-30 usb latency

More aggressive sample rate and quantum settings will demand more resources from your computer. I do all of my recordings on laptops, so I try to limit my demands until I really need them. Similarly, I use Gnome's "power saver" mode unless I'm recording. I used to do a lot of tweaking but ...

Re: nux mg-30 usb latency

Just a quick note that you might consider temporarily changing PipeWire settings. I use the following: # when recording: pw-metadata -n settings 0 clock.force-quantum 128 pw-metadata -n settings 0 clock.force-rate 48000 # when finished recording: pw-metadata -n settings 0 clock.force-rate 0 pw-metad...

Re: Fundraiser: Expediting Linux Support for Focusrite Scarlett 4th Gen Devices

Thanks for all of your efforts @geoffrey. I'm a happy owner of a second generation 2i2 and because of your work I'll likely buy a new Scarlett when the time comes.

Re: Continuing the jack/pipewire debate...

I've been using PipeWire for a year. It works well for me. PIPEWIRE_LATENCY now works for me to set quantum for applications, however this method will not respect sample rate. pw-metadata still works if I need to change sample rate.

Re: Very easy way to set Pipewire sample rate and buffer size defaults!

I use Arch, and followed the wiki. Reaper doesn't give a fig about my PipeWire environmental variables. Things work just fine with the commands.

Re: Very easy way to set Pipewire sample rate and buffer size defaults!

The environmental variable approach has never worked for me. I've only had success using the pw-metadata commands.

Re: AIDA-X - Amp Model Player

Tried this out last night. Quite a nice project. The clean tones sound great. I do wish that it included more than one model by default. I also wasn't able to get a high gain sound despite downloading a few more models online.

I'll echo the sentiment that Guitarix needs a way to donate funds ;)

Re: guitarix.vst

Just tried the latest zip file and all's well on Arch and Reaper. I can confirm the @gimmeapill AUR works as well.

Re: Snare with cymbal sitting on top

There are videos of Larnell Lewis learning brand new songs. Simply amazing. I'd not heard Tony Buck or The Necks before. @sunrat do you play in The Necks? Fascinating music.

In the vein of amazing drummers with cymbals on their drums, I present Louis Cole: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuxzWqkyo0k

Impressive. I'd not heard of Nama, and the composition is quite elaborate to imagine creating without a GUI.
