Re: [SOLVED] Disappearing MIDI Connections

SOLVED

To be honest, I am not sure what's happened to resolve this problem.

After changing

Code: Select all

--midi seq
To

Code: Select all

-X seq
All jack MIDI have reappeared.

...but I am CERTAIN I tried this several times already!

Oh well, will wait and see if it's a long-term fix, fingers crossed.

Re: Disappearing MIDI Connections

A small development: I created a test user account, made sure was part of the audio group etc, and on running.the same jackd command, all jack MIDI ports appeared in QjackCtl. So the problem is local to my user account, but what's causing the problem? I have deleted all config/cache files and folder...

[SOLVED] Disappearing MIDI Connections

Hello, everyone. I'm having an issue whereby all jack MIDI ports displayed in QjackCtl or Carla (the red MIDI ports) have disappeared. MIDI devices are correctly recognised: Output of aplaymidi --list Port Client name Port name 14:0 Midi Through Midi Through Port-0 24:0 Rubix44 Rubix44 MIDI 1 28:0 M...

Re: MIDI pitch to CC - Akai MIDIMIX Button Event Routing

I think with qmidiroute you most likely can handle these wanted way. Thanks for this. On your suggestion I have just been trying QMidiRoute and it almost works :) almost because to trigger the on/off events, I must first manually change Velocity in Input and Values in Output before the button press...

Re: MIDI pitch to CC - Akai MIDIMIX Button Event Routing

I've used PureData ... but that's probably overkill. Thanks for this suggestion. It certainly looks like it's bigger than what I'm looking for. I think mididings should be able to do this... I have encountered mididings in my quest for a solution; I was hoping to avoid "programming"/scrip...

MIDI pitch to CC - Akai MIDIMIX Button Event Routing

Hello, everyone. Does anyone know of a way to reroute MIDI pitch data to CC controls? I have the Akai MIDIMIX USB MIDI control surface; it has 20 buttons and (all but one of them) when pressed produce a "note on" pitch event with a velocity value of 127, and a corresponding "note off&...

Re: Fabla-1/2 ignore MIDI pad release?

RESULTS :) One solution is delaying note-offs with a midifilter like MIDI Sostenuto. It works with Fabla 1. 8) If it doesn't works you can try Sitala or Drumkv1 . LAM, your suggestion of using the MIDI filter was an interesting one and one I will bear in mind for the future however for now I will r...

Compiling Fabla 2 resolves the clicking/popping but it has other problems including stability (and obeys ...

Re: Complete Newb. What can I do with a keyboard?

If you just want to play piano, then qsynth is great (a graphical frontend for fluidsynth, a soundfont player); some free sound fonts can be found here: https://sites.google.com/site/soundfonts4u/ Bristol is an excellent collection of vintage synth emulators (DX-7, Moog, SID, Oberheim and more) for ...

Bonjour, From England!

Greetings, LinuxMusicians members. I am a complete n00b when it comes to making music (of any variety) but after much wrangling, I have gotten to the point where I can now start. One solid lesson I've learned so far, ThinkPad sound cards have terrible processing latency! I look forward to bothering ...

[SOLVED] Fabla-1/2 ignore MIDI pad release?

Greetings, everyone. I am trying to solve a small problem I'm having with Fabla, the OpenAV drum sampler, and I am convinced that it is merely user error (I hope). I have the Akai MPD218 USB MIDI pad controller, which works with the exception that when releasing a pad, Fabla will stop playing the sa...
