Re: Keyboard is recognised but doesn't work
Well that’s a little annoying, I assumed when you said it worked with the cp-33 it was working now, it working a year ago is pretty meaningless, any number of things could have changed or broken in that time. What I would do is download a Linux image and boot from usb to check your Linux isn’t some...

Re: Keyboard is recognised but doesn't work
Have you tried the CP-33 with this exact setup? If that works then the USB cable and OS are good and the problem is with the Dexibell. Drivers on Linux are kernel modules -- it's a very different setup from Windows. You can see what kernel modules are loaded with lsmod . This produces a long list s...

Re: Keyboard is recognised but doesn't work
In the original post the OP wrote: I contacted Dexibell manufacturer and they said driver is not required. I took this to mean the device is class compliant. I had a look on the Dexibell site and there is no driver to download for any OS. It does raise the question of what exactly "class compl...

Re: Keyboard is recognised but doesn't work
Do you have 5 pin MIDI inputs? They would work in the meantime until you figure this out. I would expect your keyboard to just work over USB. 3 pin midi. Memory midi. And usb midi which my cable is connected to. You think I must isolate that USB midi and possibly disable the rest pins? (sorry if I ...

Re: Keyboard is recognised but doesn't work
I use Ableton: With WINE? The problem is then exposing MIDI in WINE. So this topic should be in 'Running Non-Linux Software'. Or start a new topic -- WINE MIDI in that forum. You're maybe right. But i've been using Yamaha-CP33 as midi with a same setup (linux + ableton). I had yamaha-cp33 driver th...

Re: Keyboard is recognised but doesn't work
I didn't know Ableton even works in Linux so can't help there. I'd suggest using a standalone synth to test that MIDI is working for starters. If it works on Windows, it works on Linux :) (using wine) That is good idea. Any of those would be fine or could you recommend something else? http://www.vi...

Re: Keyboard is recognised but doesn't work
What does Ableton display for choices under Settings/Audio? Maybe only pulseaudio? I covered it in one of previous posts but here are more details: Driver Type - No audio, MME/DirectX Audio Input Device - No input, In: Default DX, In: HDA Intel PCH ALC3239 Analog DX In: Default wave and In: HDA Int...

Re: Keyboard is recognised but doesn't work
No, pulse is not running as I disabled and removed it. I don't see alsa as an option in Ableton.
Of course i know about alsamixer. It doesn't have anything even remotely close to MIDI settings.

Re: Keyboard is recognised but doesn't work
Yes, I used Cadence cause I thought I need to use to got midi runing. Using it or not.. still no success.
I guess I have to configure ALSA somehow. It is used by default systemwide. Do you know GUI for this purpose?

Re: Keyboard is recognised but doesn't work
In Driver Type I got MME/Directx as only option. In Audio Input device I selected default DX but there some other options too. Out also DX. Now Link midi section: I got 'control surface' within I have to select one of given midi. Or none. I'm not sure if I can leave it as none. Anyway I tried all mi...

I use Alsa. So, I should use pulse then ? I don't understand German at all though..
