Re: Slowly resigning myself to yet another reinstall...where to go?

I kind of need the realtime kernel as well, I guess. I tried to set all this up once, a long time ago, with vanilla.Ubuntu and kept getting xruns. I'm really very comfortable with Ubuntu Studio, having used it since it's inception, but it just seems to be becoming more and more unusable with each r...

If you open a new/empty session in Ardour, does the problem persist?

Sample Rate in Pipewire

This is an attempt to take info from here and explain the pertinent bits to here. Out of the box the Sample Rate used in pipewire is 48k. Any other sample rates will be transcoded by pipewire to 48k. JACK applications generally don't specify their own sample rate, so they will use whatever the defau...

Hiding nodes in Pipewire/Wireplumber

Due to an unused feature with my Saffire Pro 40, I end up with large unused nodes displaying in the inputs and outputs that are useless to me. This is how I have hidden them using Wireplumber I sourced the info from here https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/WirePlumber Using the command wpctl status I g...

Re: CALF plugins?

Sorry, looks like I haven't logged in here for longer than I thought! One example I can think of is Dragonfly reverb. I'm not sure if it sounds better than Calf or not, but it is very good. However, it has more options than my little mind can handle, like "wander," "spin," and &...

Re: LSP and Span analysers

Yes I've tried the mastering setting but it's something about not getting the smooth line it is still that lightning looking thing and it's not smooth like a cloud as you see in span.. In the video you've provided the demonstrator reduces FFT size to 512. Did you do this with LSP? Is there supposed...

Re: No GUI for Some Plugins in Ardour

Thank you. The install directions said to use snap for Ubuntu. Should I no longer use snap for any installations? Can you elaborate? Thanks so much, Jason Snap (and flatpak also) create a separate set of system directories so that the application always has the correct dependencies and can work on ...

Re: No GUI for Some Plugins in Ardour

Presuming you mean https://ssj71.github.io/infamousPlugins/ there is instructions to build them on https://github.com/ssj71/infamousPlugins

Copying binaries from a snap is not a good idea and is the cause of your problem.
