You might also search for a "teleprompter" application, as that's a pretty close approximation of what you need.

Re: Obituary thread for musicians
Nothing for Jimmy Buffett? Checkout "Brahma Fear" or "Nautical Wheelers", both recorded pre-1975.
IMHO the early 1970's "alt country" was gently subversive, at least compared to today's crossover / conformist stuff...

I'm trying to use Bard to help create Makefiles.

Re: Should volume knob be separate from power switch?
Yeah, absolutely. Separate on/off & volume controls are much preferred.
Not exactly a new issue for electronics (cost vs function). I have '50s Kay tube amp, and the on/off switch is coupled with the tone POT.

Re: ChaffVerb plugin
A small update today for ChaffVerb to v0.2.3:
- The "general" LFO wasn't initializing correctly
- The default activation state for that LFO is now 'OFF'
Plugin builds are updated also.

Re: ChaffVerb plugin
sjzstudio reports that the alternate builds seem to resolve the issues with Mixbus and the plugin (probably new vs old system libraries).
