I installed a new operating system on the pc without resolving this issue so I can't give any more updates.

I created an audio group using the: sudo adduser [pc name] audio command

I installed a low latency kernel on a laptop running Mint and I’m trying to configure it for Jack audio. The problem is that Jack doesn’t recognize the audio interface. I uninstalled and reinstalled Guitarix and Rakarrack and now they work.
Prior to this they’d refused to work yet Jack was running, this happened after Jack refused to start, I managed to get it to start again but the above 2 x apps seemed to become uncoupled from Jack after the re-start.
