Re: "Ei Mané", metal track

I assume you toned down the Running Wild preset a lot, though? Guitars don't seem very distorted, which contributes to that 70/80s feel: I've used that preset often myself and it could have a very good punch (sometimes too much!). Hi there! I remember changing EQ, increasing Treble and decreasing B...

Re: "Ei Mané", metal track

I like the song and the guitars. Indeed quite restrained, but all the more defined for it. I would love a version with better drums and bass. I can see why you wanted to rerecord this song! Some really nice guitar work! Hi there, Thanks for hearing and sharing your views! Yes, I agree there's room ...

Re: "Ei Mané", metal track

Nice track! More than metal I would call this "power pop" or "grunge". Which are both very nice genres on their own. Hi there, Thank you! Well, I consider myself to be a "son" of the 90's generation. Soundgarden used to be my favorite band ever. In general, my musical ...

Re: Frozen Ground

DrumGizmo does come with great quality, but it's the same quality you'd get from a live set: all the processing is left to you, and to this day I'm still learning unfortunately. Hopefully I'll get there eventually! Hi there! They use real samples, I saw on their site. To put together a kit like the...

Re: Frozen Ground

Hi Rainmak3r I had actually find this track on YouTube before I got here. I was taking some time while doing my new track (metal also, and it's on the forum) and found yours. Since I consider myself a fan of your work (specially in this style) I simply went for hearing it. Well, it's a great riff, v...

"Ei Mané", metal track

Hi everyone, it's been a while. New track here, this one's coming straight from the shelves. It stayed there for quite a long time. I believe I wrote it somewhere in the early 90's to play with a band I had back then. But, since I've always loved the riff and had bought a guitar recently, I've decid...

Re: The Battle of Bull Run

It sounded like a lament to me, but in a sweet way thanks to the beautiful arrangement. I noticed the mandolin as well. Love that sound. I have one too, by the way. Here in Brasil it's called "Bandolim" and it's used mostly in "Choro", a traditional musical style. But back to the...

Hi @harry

Very cool track, maybe not for everyone, but I liked it. Very good mix also.

folderol wrote: Fri Feb 05, 2021 10:35 pm Very smooth, laid-back performance. The mellow tone of the guitare make it much easier on the ear than the original - but maybe I'm just getting old
I feel the same. Thank you!

I love this band also. Jerry Cantrell is one of my all-time favorite guitar players. Thank you!

Re: "Breed", Nirvana version. Acoustic style.

Hi milo , thanks for hearing that one. Cobain's lack of formal music training led him to some strange chord progressions, like the unexpected major chords in the chorus of this song. When all you have is power chords you don't worry about it -- you just play. :) That's right. He was what I consider ...

Re: Black Eyed Goddess

First of all I need to say this is a very cool name for a doom/death metal track.

Beside that, I really loved the riff and the guitar tone. For a doom metal song it has a great flow, in the sense that it kept me interested all the way through.

Nice to hear some metal music around here. Good work.

Re: "Breed", Nirvana version. Acoustic style.

I have to admit I hate Nirvana, and grunge in general... (how many of you will block me now? ) That said, I liked your arrangement, which is personal enough to manage to sound like its own song rather than a cover. Hi Rainmak3r , if this sounds like other song to you that makes me very glad. ...

"Breed", Nirvana version. Acoustic style.

Hi everyone, I've been a few months away, but had listened to some of the stuff posted here anytime I could. Will take a deeper look now to catch up. I have a new track, which is a Nirvana song. It's a version I made some years ago but finally produced properly (at least to my standards). I guess mo...

Re: Skjaldmær

Such a great track. I came back to this forum, after a few months, just to say that. When I've heard your previous 'metal' track, I've said here that this wasn't my favorite style, but I loved the song anyway. This is true again this time, so I guess maybe I'm a power-viking-metal fan! :D I liked th...
