Re: All

Great song here!

Definitely will hear this more times, so enjoyable.

Maybe I'll edit this later to add other impressions but right now I'd just like to say that this is very good!

Re: Gör mig hel [prog pop]

I liked the beat and the arrangement. It's like a jam, very loosen up. Good guitar parts too.

As about "prog", Pink Floyd is considered to be a Prog band and some of their music goes on the same vibe as yours.

Re: "Confetes", new track, samba-jazz

This is fantastic! I'm a fan of Bossanova, and I love the way your track sounds, and the guitar in particular: using fingers was definitely the right choice, and I'm impressed by how well you played that way (I'm lost without a pick). The rhythmic sections in songs like those are indeed hard, but I...

Re: "Confetes", new track, samba-jazz

Would you dislike me (very much) if I said that I found it very relaxing? Hi jeanette_c no, not at all. This is a sort of "bossa" tune, and that's one of the most relaxing beats I know. Glad you liked it that way. ...and I liked your percussion, for how much of a challenge you described I think it ...

Re: Man with a Clan

... and I doubt my mixing skills will ever improve enough to make them sound better than they do now  Hi Rainmak3r You're a skilled musician, that's already a great thing. As for the mix, maybe experimenting with a little 'space' effects, like reverb, would improve. It's just a matter of t...

Re: Man with a Clan

This is an awesome track. I'm not very much into this specific type of metal, but when I hear song with this quality I forgot about subgenres. The solos as very good, if you did all that yourself you might be a hell of a shredder. There's even a keyboard solo (this one reminded me of Deep Purple bes...

Hello Pierre, your hearty playing and your tasteful lines really are appreciated! Which model of Yamaha guitar are you using?
Hi @Basslint , thanks for your kind words :)

My guitar is a CGX101A. I had it from about 20 years now. Definitely love it.

"Confetes", new track, samba-jazz

Hi everyone, I had finally finished a project made in Ardour (this time version 6), and I'd love to share it with you. This is an old composition I made many years ago and had later decided to arrange in a "samba-jazz" fashion, in the vein of brazilian musicians like Toninho Horta and Nelson Angelo....

Re: Angeles (cover)

You picked a great song to cover and as a version It sounded really good to me, specially the guitar. Very nice finger-style playing. Hearing a version sometimes helps me to get a better understanding of the original. It was the case here. Maybe a little work in the mix would help to give a better f...

Re: Love & Kindness

Hi milo Great work, it sounds like a good soul/R&B track to me, a very American musical tradition. I liked the positive vibe and the lyrics. Specially when citing comments in social media. There's many songs that sing about peace & love but this is the only one I found that talks about that! Again, ...

Re: Ennio

Very cool song, viking movie-like. I like the way it builds. You kept the song interesting even if repeating the same phrase all the way down. Again, awesome drum sounds. Very loud with nice tones. I liked the fills too. This is a song I imagine hearing as an introduction song in a heavy metal conce...

Re: One Hit Wonder - a reimagination after learning new tricks

That is a good question that could be a whole tutorial series. Hi spamatica Thanks man! Your tips are already great. But if and when you do this series please let me know :P I'm starting to use this plugin https://x42-plugins.com/x42/x42-avldrums, as it was recommended to me here in this forum. Goo...

Re: On The Road Again (Blues)

For some reason I didn't like that kick in there though. Encore! Hi turbidh20 , This a valuable feedback. Hearing the song again I came to realize I could spend more time choosing the right sound for the kick. And I guess Soundcloud kind of make its own processing as the tracks end up sounding diff...

Re: One Hit Wonder - a reimagination after learning new tricks

Hi spamatica I liked the mix a lot! Guitars and bass with great tones, very fat, which is great for this style. Did like the drums too, very nice aggressive tones. I'm still on my way in mastering digital drumming, and this became a good reference to me. They doesn't sound programmed at all. Which l...

Re: Two new tracks

Hi turbidh20 , Thanks, man. Glad you liked it! General MIDI has nice sounds, I've used it in both songs actually. Besides the drums, the "flute" solo sound in "Raiz Rasteira" is from there. As well as the background synth in "Qual 1 Estrela". Unfortunately its interface makes it really hard to use i...
