Re: Focusrite Scarlett Gen 3 4i4 (and others)
Hello! Wow, it's been 3-4 years since the start of this thread. I was wondering if we could have an update on the current status of the drivers? I noticed that Linus Torvalds has been making several commits recently, and I'm wondering, does that mean this works out of the box now? Or do we still hav...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett 2nd and 3rd Gen mixer driver
From the previous forum thread: Anyone who has a 6i6, 18i8, or 18i20 2nd Gen device either working or not working, please could you help me test: https://github.com/geoffreybennett/scarlett-gen2/releases/tag/v5.12.5s1 (source, binary RPMs, and debs available there) (etc, etc.) Thanks, Geoffrey. Well...

Re: Ubuntu 21.04 and Pipewire
Yeah, being on 21.04 is a good place to start, because no matter which way you go, it gives you access to the most up-to-date packages. With PipeWire being so new, and with so many things rapidly progressing, being tested, additional modules either in the works or not yet started, if I had to recomm...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 Gen 3
Hey everyone! I can't believe it's been so long since I checked in on this thread. Glad to see there's been progress made! If it's not too much trouble, could someone fill me in on what all needs to be done for me to try this out? It looks like there's been even more work done on this since last Oct...

Re: Ubuntu 21.04 and Pipewire
Discovered how to properly configure this. There are three services that need to be enabled. It turns out the Debian team, while having packaged and enabled two of the three services, but left the final one in a /usr/share/doc/ folder. Debian still considers PipeWire to be "experimental" s...

Re: Ubuntu 21.04 and Pipewire
I'm not sure if I found out "THE" solution, but... still, this is very interesting! I went to Carla's Settings > Engine For "Audio driver," I switched it to "ALSA," then clicked the "..." button, and found my Scarlett was in the list. I selected that. Screensh...

Ubuntu 21.04 and Pipewire
Someone had to do it. I figured it might as well be me! I have Ubuntu 21.04 running on a Live USB drive just to play with PipeWire, and I was pleasantly surprised to see PipeWire's service running right out of the box. ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ systemctl --user status pipewire.service ● pipewire.service - Mu...

Unfortunately, Carla can only show me what sources, sinks and devices are enabled through ubuntustudio-controls.

Ubuntu Studio: Ubuntu Studio Controls: How to add and map channels to a pulse output bridge?
Hello! I just asked this question via an Ask Ubuntu thread , as per Ubuntu Studio's support page , but my last question lasted a month without a single reply, so I figured I should ask the question here as well! I am using Ubuntu Studio 20.04 with JACK through ubuntustudio-controls . I have a surrou...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett Gen 3 4i4 (and others)
Greetings! I've just recently read through this entire thread and noted as much as I could about it so I could slide in and join the conversation! First, a brief summary: I started in Linux in November of last year with Ubuntu 18.04 as my sole OS, and have moved on through to 20.04. I've recently bu...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 Gen 3
I'm about to comment on this in the "Focusrite Scarlett Gen 3 4i4 (and others)" thread since it seems to be related to all models of Gen 3, but before I do, as a matter of housekeeping I was curious about proposing the closing and merging of this thread into the other so as to prevent a de...
