Re: studio monitors
@lilith I also use LSP for room correction. That is a very old version you have, current is 1.2.15. It has a much improved GUI and better performance. There is also an X8 version with 8 bands rather than 16.

Re: Is this woofer blemish significant?
That is significant damage. Before considering, find out the price of a replacement woofer. They would have to be less than about 20% of new price at the most. TBH, I wouldn't buy that model at all. I auditioned a whole lot of monitors a while back and they were one of the worst sounding. I did end ...

Re: CALF plugins?
Considering the quality and great results I've had with other Auburn Sounds plugins, I would first try Couture - https://www.auburnsounds.com/products/Couture.html I haven't tried it yet but just downloaded it. The free version only has saturation disabled, otherwise fully functional. Other options ...

Re: CALF plugins?
I do hope if @sadko4u or any other developer ports them to a proper X11 UI that they will preserve the controls as they were. LSP is incredible and the power over the parameters for experienced Users is valued but I do think for many Users keeping a collection of intuitively easy to use Plugins sim...

Re: AV Linux MX Edition 23.2 ISO update released!
I believe Ventoy recently was having issues with newer Kernels which may explain why your USB keys weren't booting AVL 23.2.. Admittedly this is just a shot in the dark.. Can confirm. I just tried to install OpenSuse Tumbleweed from Ventoy and it failed, whereas it worked perfectly when I wrote the...

Re: AV Linux MX Edition 23.2 ISO update released!
I can't say yet for sure, though I think I recall the bios is setup for RAID by default. BIOS should possibly be set to ACPI, not RAID; on mine it's in SATA Options. I had the same issue when I first built my current computer and had to change it. The issue has also come up in other forums a number...

I'm an admin at another busy Linux forum. We don't allow users to "un-register". We generally advise to change their registered email to a non-existent one and change password then forget it. GMaq great work on the new release! I haven't finished kicking the tyres on 23.1 but didn't encoun...

Re: Ubuntu Studio vs LinuxMint 21.3
For current Carla packages I just use only the KX apps repo and remove all others. Most of the plugins in the plugins section are not being updated for several years, except for a few specific ones which falktx has a hand in development which I source individually if I want them. deb http://ppa.laun...

It is spelled Onyx btw. May help with your internet searches.
It is named after a semi-precious gemstone.

Re: help needed, is my music repetative ?
Gps hip-hop music is often mindlessly repetitive but that hasn't stopped the genre from becoming popular. It's all been mostly downhill since Grandmaster Flash's "The Message". I'm sure your stuff is better than most of the modern stuff. Remember Sturgeon's Law - "90 percent of every...

@Impostor good examples. They all need to be banished to digital heaven.
Did you report them? Mods are usually pretty responsive to reports.
