Re: AV Linux MX Edition 23.2 ISO update released!

I believe Ventoy recently was having issues with newer Kernels which may explain why your USB keys weren't booting AVL 23.2.. Admittedly this is just a shot in the dark.. Can confirm. I just tried to install OpenSuse Tumbleweed from Ventoy and it failed, whereas it worked perfectly when I wrote the...

It is setup to AHCI mode.
No option ACPI mode available.

Ooops, AHCI is what I meant. It was very late here.

Re: AV Linux MX Edition 23.2 ISO update released!

I can't say yet for sure, though I think I recall the bios is setup for RAID by default. BIOS should possibly be set to ACPI, not RAID; on mine it's in SATA Options. I had the same issue when I first built my current computer and had to change it. The issue has also come up in other forums a number...

I'm an admin at another busy Linux forum. We don't allow users to "un-register". We generally advise to change their registered email to a non-existent one and change password then forget it. GMaq great work on the new release! I haven't finished kicking the tyres on 23.1 but didn't encoun...

Re: Ubuntu Studio vs LinuxMint 21.3

For current Carla packages I just use only the KX apps repo and remove all others. Most of the plugins in the plugins section are not being updated for several years, except for a few specific ones which falktx has a hand in development which I source individually if I want them. deb http://ppa.laun...

Re: help needed, is my music repetative ?

Gps hip-hop music is often mindlessly repetitive but that hasn't stopped the genre from becoming popular. It's all been mostly downhill since Grandmaster Flash's "The Message". I'm sure your stuff is better than most of the modern stuff. Remember Sturgeon's Law - "90 percent of every...

@Impostor good examples. They all need to be banished to digital heaven.
Did you report them? Mods are usually pretty responsive to reports.

Re: rtcqs links down?

The system config page at linuxaudio.org was down recently and @autostatic fixed it after I mentioned it. Maybe a similar issue has reared its ugly head again.

Re: I think it's that time of the year again

Spring cleaning! This forum's on the verge of being overrun by inane chatbots. Okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration. Still, a bit of a sweep wouldn't hurt. If I was a bot, I would complain about bots so real people would think I'm no bot  You realise bots are gonna read this. Shouldn't gi...

Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now?

Trevor Horn I had to google, and to name two tracks, video killed the radio start, and Malcom McLaren - Buffalo Gals. That calls for some fun facts. :D Trevor Horn is a well-known producer including work with ABC, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Art of Noise, Seal, Tina Turner, Paul McCartney, Tom Jones...

Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now?

Old disco has become nu-disco now. Gps yeah for sure. The keyboard line in that Romy track is almost straight from Tavares. Tavares - Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel (1976) [REMASTERED HD] • TopPop Every Satin Jackets song ever for instance: Satin Jackets - You Make Me Feel Good (Original Mix...

Romy - Mid Air album I'm not a big listener of this dance/EDM/R&B kind of stuff but I love this album. Production is highest order and her vocals are divine. She's On My Mind - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87lYBE_5wkg Strong - track with Fred again... - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aFF09j...

Re: 5k2k display and AMD Linux drivers

I find my LG C1 48" 4K OLED display is excellent for most things. Great for Mixbus 32C and movies etc. I run desktop scaling at 150%. For daily desktop use I just use a 27" 4K monitor. My lowly GTX 970 runs it quite happily at 60Hz even with another 4K monitor running at the same time. I c...
