Hi Jeanette, this is (again) a very good song: nicely structured and all parts working together in harmony. Your singing talent has improved a lot and sounds more confident. Keep going!

Re: Saxperiment
Short, but nice! All voices are well integrated with each other and the drum is varied without being distracting. Sounds very good for somebody who is "learning to play the saxophone".

Re: Rainmaker (album)
I hope doing the dishes didn't depress you so much that you didn't finish the album  Not at all :-) I've now listened to the whole album. I like "In a Reverie a lot", especially the part after the piano solo. I think the piano solo could benefit from a human performance. Let me know ...

Re: Rainmaker (album)
That's an incredibly fast production time for an album, without noticeable impact on the quality. Well done! I haven't finished listening to everything yet. Same remarks as the others: your voice is great and it suits the music; I think it may be mixed in more prominently. As for strings: this is in...

Re: Dancing on 3rd street
Very good production, as always. I still have no clue how you do it. It's good to hear you singing again! But why are the vocals mixed so silently (especially compared with the reference track)? I think you shouldn't be so shy and you can give the vocals a more prominent place in the mix. I'm glad I...

Re: City in the mountains
Thanks all for your comments and feedback! The only thing that doesn't sound "right" to me would be the drums, as the snare sounds very dry That may be a difference in taste then, since this time, I was very conscious about the wet levels of the reverb on the snare. On the other hand, I st...

Very high quality overall. I've listened to it with my brother and we were very impressed.

Re: Walk - with Lianne Hall
Congratulations for having the courage to get in touch with Lianne! Since the original version was already very good, I was skeptical. But ... goosebumps. Wow. It's still very good. Adding another singer maintained the original quality of the song. I like it!

City in the mountains
Hi all, I went a little out of my comfort zone with this one: it has ... a straight tempo with metronome (it's even quantized), drums and "electric guitar". You can listen to it on my website . My previous music was based on an improvisation of one recording that defined the melody, chords...

Re: EU citizen's initiative for a new law on fossil fuel ads
asbak , I agree with your statement that everybody on this forum somehow has some benefit from using fossil fuel. I admit using fossil fuels: I use gas for heating my home, I have bought products (clothes, food, ...) where fossil fuels have been used in the production processes and for transportati...

Wow, this is really great. I think this collaboration got the best out of all contributors. There's not much more I can say about this.

Re: Autumn leaves
I'd look into sfizz instead, which is a much lighter SFZ implementation for linux (even though it's not without its own issues). Thanks for this suggestion. You've already suggested this before, but this time, I've upgraded sfizz to version 1.2 and now the CC events work :D . I haven't checked the ...

Re: KVR December Music Cafe competition.
No comments? Hi folderol , no reason to be unhappy. I missed it myself as it was buried under the pile of Christmas songs that were published around the same time. Nice arrangement, very classical. The main melody sounds like a traditional song, but I don't recognize it. Is it something you m...

Re: Autumn leaves
Really nice piece, which feels like the soundtrack to a French movie :D Thank you! Yes, I think "soundtrack" is the best description of the genre I aim for. On strings, you're right that there's no legato preset in VPO, but you can do something about that by playing with attacks if you us...
