Re: Windows VST in 2020?

I am mostly using Airwave, and seems to work for me. I used to use Airwave too, as I haven't been able to get LinVST working, because the LinVST's instruction seemed to be not so clear for me 1 year ago. I had a belief that Airwave is doing a great job for me until I decided to put more hours in Li...

Re: Minimizing Latency (Am I missing something or am I screwed?)

One more thing that I have forgot to mentioned (that I have figured myself for my case to get it work - not from the YouTube video), that I have to install the following packages from pacman: 1. alsa-firmware 2. alsa-lib 3. alsa-utils 4. pulseaudio-alsa 5. pulseaudio-jack One more package that I hav...

Re: Minimizing Latency (Am I missing something or am I screwed?)

Hi, welcome to Linux audio production world. I'm very interested in replying to your topic because we share so many common things: 1. I'm also new to Linux audio production (not new to Linux). But I decided to use Archlinux for my main work horse for producing Audio a few months back. ................

Re: BiasAmp in Linux Wine

I install BiasFX with Reaper 6.09. The installation goes smoothly, and the plugin is loaded, but no GUI, so that I can't use it :(

Re: QJackCtl has blinking red background

Xruns are not the end of the world. They happen on every system. The point is to observe when they happen: During playback and active audio production? Then you have a problem. When a program loads, crashes, searches a minute or two for plugins or renders/exports a large session? Then you don't hav...

Re: QJackCtl has blinking red background

Do you run it without the tray icon? How do you access the settings and fiddle with Graph and Patchbay? Via the qjackctl GUI. I never used the Icon Menu. It's a habit of mine. @xruns Testing the interface on different USB ports. Testing different qjackctl settings. https://github.com/raboof/realtim...

Re: QJackCtl has blinking red background

My best settings is Sample Rate 4800 Frames/Period: 512 Periods/buffer: 3 It works without xrun, but the latency is freaking high 32ms. Which is not acceptable at all. I have a question which hardware could possibly help to lower the latency? Do you think a stronger CPU or a better audio interface?...

This could help not to see the blinking message anymore, a quick fix LOL. But it's not comfortable for quick access to qjackctl

Re: QJackCtl has blinking red background

I just wonder why the Xruns happens when I try to do nothing with the computer. That means no sound needs to be processed. Here's the log file Sat Apr 25 18:06:06 2020: ERROR: JackEngine::XRun: client = PulseAudio JACK Source was not finished, state = Running Sat Apr 25 18:06:06 2020: ERROR: JackAud...

Re: QJackCtl has blinking red background

The red blink just indicates xruns have occurred. Middle clicking the icon resets. I don't know if you know this and are asking why you get xruns? You're not clear on that. I love QjackCtl but the red flashing drives me nuts. I wish there was an option to disable it. Actually I don't know about the...

Re: QJackCtl has blinking red background

What I have just figured out is the problem is gone when I set the "Priority" back to 10, instead of 99. I was trained to set the Realtime Priority to 99 on Cadence to lower the latency. However, it might be different in Qjackctl. Do you have any ideas?
