As I note you used in in the first two generation linux drivers. I know this device can be controlled by buttons, but would be good to control by software as well.

OK took one of my lilypond files, and moved it down two octaves (so contains G1). The midi file shows: Event: clefchange Type(data 1): bass And when displaying the music, its shown as a F clef sub 8 - e.g. moved down an octave. looks like the sub 8 was decided by rosegarden, e.g. not in the midi fil...

I usually only use rosegarden for looking at midi files, and write the music in lilypond. This said though can easily do the lilypond to do a G2, then export a midi file, open in rosegarden and see what it does. I've a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Gen 3 due to be arriving on Thursday. Happy to help out testing any code on my (Arch) linux machine. Alas I have no virtual Windows install on this machine, so can't grab the commands that the Focusrite software sends. Also happy to reviewing code before sending a patch...
