Re: Focusrite Scarlett Gen 3 4i4 (and others)

Everything seems to work out of the box with Linux, of course there are no alsamixer controls for this soundcard. Excellent! (the first bit at least :) ) yes, at least the basic functionality is there :) In case you need some testing and bug report with 4i4 4th gen, I am up for that. and I will als...

Re: Using alsa in parallel with pipewire

thanks for your answer.

Solution: yes, stopping pipewire with systemD was the solution for me:
$ systemctl --user stop pipewire.service
I am running Linux Mint 21 with kernel 5.15.0-46-lowlatency, which is the latest lowlatency kernel I can install.

Using alsa in parallel with pipewire

hi,

I am running Linux Mint 21 and successfully using pipewire.

Now I would like to run Reaper with Alsa, is that possible while pipewire is running?
If I select ALSA in Reaper I get a [audio device closed] notification and no audio can be played.

Re: Setting up Touchosc MK2 and Reaper

I actually figure it out myself in the meanwhile, so I post some basic information that might not be clear for anyone trying to do that. 1. In reaper you have to set the configuration of the OSC communication, meaning: a. the IP and port of your computer, where Reaper is running. a. the IP and port ...

Setting up Touchosc MK2 and Reaper

hi, I found some guides about setting up Touchosc MK2 and Reaper, but none of them is related to Linux. Having a good knowledge about OSC messages, network protocols and the ond Touchosc MK1, I was hoping to figure it out by myself but I am struggling with that and I did not find a solution. Maybe a...

Re: SPL measurement

The Androids have different mics which is problematic when doing Apps. Íf you don't care about +-5dB or so you can also use an Android phone of course. ok, that's also good to know. I do not need a very precise measurement right now, I just wanted to have a rough reference, so Android is enough. Th...

SPL measurement

I would like to check the SPL level of my hearing situation, meaning my speakers and my headphones. I have a measurement microphone I can use for such purpose. Which software can I use to do an SPL measurement on Linux? I tried to use open sound meter but it seems to use only pulseaudio, I would rat...

Re: AutoEQ with Jack

LSP Plugins include standalone versions so you don't need to run them as plugins. I currently use /usr/bin/lsp-plugins-para-equalizer-x16-lr as room correction patched via Qjackctl graph inserted immediately before system outputs so all audio runs through it. I'm planning to change that to IR soon....

lilith wrote: Thu Feb 17, 2022 10:07 pm If you need speaker correction there's a very good free option around which sounds as good as sonarworks and you only need one single measurement with REW.
can you tell where where this option is explained? here on the forum?

Re: AutoEQ with Jack

Thanks for your answer.

In the meanwhile I found the LSP Impulse Response plugin, that seems to work pretty well with the IR of AutoEQ.

I prefer a convolver instead of an EQ, as I do not have to manually entry all the parameters.

The routing through Jack is no problem.

AutoEQ with Jack

hi everyone, I assume many of you know the project AutoEQ You can load a file in a convolved and improve the frequency response of your headphones. You can also load or manually add the suggested equalization in a software, though the convolved option is much simpler. For pulseaudio there is PulseEf...
