Re: favorite midi sequencer?

Bumping this old thread. I’ve been searching for the best midi sequencer. I had a DAWless setup with a Digitakt as the midi sequencer and think I was most creative with it. I recorded those jam sessions to AudioShare on iOS. I’ve since gotten into Linux and been using Bitwig which is great for audio...

Re: Qjackctl midi patchbay

The first step is to auto-start qjackctl on login. I do that on my machine in the XFCE Settings > Session and Startup config window. Different DE's have different methods for this. There are also ways to do it with cron, as suggested above, or a startup script. Step 2 is to configure qjackctl. Ther...

Re: Qjackctl midi patchbay

So I think that all I need is to have Qjackctl's play button presses upon startup. Is that possible?

Qjackctl midi patchbay

I want to use my Midisport 4x4 as a midi patchbay/router on my Linux Lite 4.8 system. So far, it works with Qjackctl either with the Patchbay or the Connect tabs. The only problem is when the computer boots up, I have to launch Qjackctl and hit Active in the Patchbay tab for it to work. Is there a w...

Re: Is the M-Audio Audiophile 2496 the right choice for me?

I’m using the Delta 2496 in my old AMD Phenom 2 955 based pc, with Linux Lite installed. I was trying to use my iconnectivity audio 4+, but kept getting xruns when no apps were running. So I had delta 2496 which was used for an old Mac and now I get hardly any xruns. My DAW is Bitwig 2.3.5 and I kee...

Re: Getting Delta 1010 working in Ubuntu Studio 19.10

I have the M-audio Delta 2496 which is just like 1010, just 2 analog ins and outs on Linux Lite 4.8. I’m using the envy24control to turn on the volume. One thing about it I don’t like, is I have to launch envy24control every time I start up the computer and raise the volume. Is there a way that the...

Re: Need some help - Linux distros

Just curious what distro the topic poster went with. I’m on Linux Lite 4.8 which works well with audio and runs great on my 10 year amd phenom 955 cpu. I’ve used Linux Lite for two years. I tried Ubuntu and that didn’t seem to work as good. Tried Mint and Lubuntu but liked Linux Lite the best. Maybe...

Linux Lite Music Computer

I tried Ubuntu and Linux mint, but found Linux Lite was the best distro for my amd phenom 2 pc, with the m-audio delta 2496. So I got Bitwig 2.3.5 on it. I’ve gotten into trackers, I’ve got Tutka, Sunvox and PixiTracker. I had a more powerful pc, which is a Hackintosh and windows machine, but I had ...

Re: ableton

Bitwig got me into Linux. Version 2.3.5 runs great on AMD phenom 2 Linux Lite PC which is 10 years old. I got Bitwig in 2014 for $199 and bought one upgrade. It’s actually much better then Live. I haven’t bought the next upgrade for $129 since there are more exciting Linux apps that are free! Bitwig...
