Re: Remote sound device inputs to a master machine

I'm going to try out one of the devices from Hasseb, as they're within my price range, and they have a built-in web interface for managing the signal flow (apparently that's the crux of the matter for AVB/AES67).

Re: Hello!

I dream of being in a band like Snarky Puppy :) Oooh, I really like Snarky Puppy. If you want to collaborate on some kind of neo-jazz music like that, I can record a clarinet track for you, and it would be fun to try some of the synth stuff as well. What more can I say than: that's a great idea! :)

Re: Hello!

Thanks for the comments, Openmastering! I tend to bounce around a lot of genres, but when I'm not in front of a computer I tend to play Jazz, Funk and Soul music live. I dream of being in a band like Snarky Puppy :) When I'm recording, I do more of the same, plus some Rock music, but at that point I...

Re: Remote sound device inputs to a master machine

I think the main problem for a jack based solution is having 2 interfaces: one on the remote machine and one on the main machine for monitoring. Having 2 interfaces that are not synced (wordclock or similar) means that one of them has to run asynchronously. Agreed. I think that's where I've seen fi...

Remote sound device inputs to a master machine

Recently, I've fallen down the rabbit hole of networked audio components. It all started from a relatively innocuous Google search for "Linux AVB", and then I got excited as I read some threads on the official Ardour forum: https://discourse.ardour.org/t/dante-protocol-networked-audio/8978...

Re: Hello!

Michael, Thanks for your reply! I've done a fair amount of recording of live instruments in the past, but the stuff I tend to do myself is Bass (Electric and Upright). I use an E-Drum kit to record MIDI for Drums, and from there onwards I tend to lean on SFZ/SF2 sample sets, and though I have Acoust...

Re: SMDrums v3 + Round Robins

I have recently separated out some of the SMDrums linuxsampler sfz script found here on the forums and have created some individual instruments from it...v3 is the version with round robins. Thanks very much for your work on this mapping! I loaded it into Carla, and it works well :) I attempted to ...

Hello!

Hello fellow LinuxMusicians! I can't say that I'm a new user of Linux in the audio realm - it's been fascinating me ever since the mid-90s, but for some strange reason it's only now that I go ahead and decide to sign up to this forum, which I've been following for a number of years! Usually when I h...
