Thanks for the answer @ladron, do you know a plugin for this switching/change path? I haven't found one.

I think it is more likely to be found as a feature in the plugin host - particularly hosts designed for playing live, like Element:

Re: Neural Amp Modeler LV2 plugin

I know that the idea is try to maintain it simple, but I was thinking that for live situation (using carla for example) it would be nice to have a set of captures (3 or 4) to simulate the different channels in an amp The problem with features like this is that everyone wants different ones and has ...

Should you use an IR in a Convolver for a speaker or cabinet along with the NAM of an amp or will it sound bad?

It depends if the NAM model includes the cabinet or not. If it is just an amp model, you need to use an IR. If it is a full rig (amp+cab) model, you should not use an IR.

Re: Neural Amp Modeler LV2 plugin

I could load yours in Reaper but I have no way of loading the profiles but with this if it's possible to get it running on Linux, it should run on every DAW. Reaper has no support for LV2 path parameters. That is a Reaper issue: https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?p=2505988 The plugin you saw i...

Hard to help without knowing what errors you are getting. Do you have the proper build tools (including CMake) installed?

Re: Neural Amp Modeler LV2 plugin

Interesting. I haven't played around enough to see how DSP intensive it is... But, at the worst case, one can track with a lighter simulation and then "reamp" with it. It isn't really a problem on modern desktop computers. The issue comes in when trying to run it on less powerful CPUs - l...

Re: Neural Amp Modeler LV2 plugin

After some more testing and playing around with some profiles from the Facebook NAM Discussion Group , I am really impressed with the results. Although it is too early to say for sure, it might become might default guitar amp simulation software. Yes - it really does work very well. I'm pretty conv...

Re: Neural Amp Modeler LV2 plugin

The actual profiles are .nam files. The files I had were not, so it would just crash. Maybe it would be nice if the plugin could prevent the crash and just issue a warning. Yeah, the plugin is pretty rough and ready right now. I plan to keep it very basic, but some better error handling would be go...

Neural Amp Modeler LV2 plugin

Neural Amp Modeler (NAM) is an open source machine learning framework for amplifier simulation. It works very well, and has been getting a lot of traction recently with people sharing some great-sounding models. I've put together a bare-bones LV2 plugin for playing NAM models. You can find it here: ...

Re: Latency Tip

As merlyn says, using two interfaces gives you the additional problem that you now have two separate clock signals to keep in sync. There is non-trivial work that the audio system has to do to cope with this. Using a single interface for both input and output is much simpler, and should work better ...

Re: Small guitar interfaces that work with Linux

To answer part of my own question, I just picked up a Hotone Jogg and it works just fine out the box in Linux (tested on a Raspberry Pi 4).

Re: Small guitar interfaces that work with Linux

This is another interface that I'd really like Linux support info on: https://xsonicaudio.com/pages/xtone It is an audio interface with a few built-in stomps and an expression pedal input. I emailed them a while back and they said Linux was not supported. Doesn't mean it doesn't work (or couldn't be...

Re: Small guitar interfaces that work with Linux

If you assume devices don't work on Linux until proven otherwise you will never be wrong. :) It does make buying a device a bit difficult. As a practical solution you could buy on a 'sale or return' basis. Try interfaces from websites that allow you to return the device for any reason. Yeah, I'll l...

Yeah, I think 16bit is fine for most people's needs (including my own). You just have to be a bit more careful with your headroom.

Re: Small guitar interfaces that work with Linux

It is worth noting that the Orange and the Teisco are 16 bit and the other two are 24 bit. 16 bit sounds suspiciously like USB 1.1, which has worse latency than USB 2.0. This brings up another point - I do need very low latency. I'm currently running a 32-sample buffer with my BOSS GT-1 and I would...
