Yes I understand this could be useful. I'll see what I can do.Is it possible to show the length of an intro/ending/fill when chosen, for example two bars?

Re: JJazzLab 2.2 and new demo
I mean I said JJazzLab-X is an end-user program because it's a standalone program a user can run, with a UI etc. (i.e. it's not a library). But indeed JJazzLab-X is targeted to developers who develop music generation algorithms.

Re: JJazzLab 2.2 and new demo
Yes, JJazzLab-X is an end-user program, everything should be fully functional, though it only embeds a "stub" music generation engine which just shows how to use the API.Is that an end-user program though? I thought it was just part of the overall package.

Re: JJazzLab 2.2 and new demo
To be accurate: JJazzLab is a distribution of JJazzLab-X (100% open-source) bundled with a proprietary plugin (YamJJazz music generation engine, based on Yamaha style files).

Re: JJazzLab 2.2 and new demo
Yes I'm the sole programmer, and I carefully check the licenses of the few external libraries JJazzLab use. So if ever you decide to do it, you have my authorization :D (and don't hesitate to contact me if needed) Don't bother with the .sf2 file if it's too big, it's really easy to download separate...

Re: JJazzLab 2.2 and new demo
Squalala Thanks for your nice words :D I've heard that you were working on a drummer's like algorithm. Is that still true ? This is on the to-do list. I would love to try to replicate some of the Logic Pro Virtual Drummer features, being able, with very few controls, to modulate the drums & bass ph...

Re: JJazzLab 2.2 and new demo
GMaq In general the easier it is for users to access my app, the happier I am  So if AV Linux can help, this sounds interesting. The issue I have is I don't have expertise to do this. I guess I could manage it technically if I'd take time, but I also have 100's of other things to do to improv...

JJazzLab 2.2 and new demo
I've just released JJazzLab 2.2.beta which brings a few convenient new features (rhythm preview, new dark theme, transposed playback for sax/trumpet players, print lead sheet, ...). Also a friend of mine made a great demo on YouTube : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzclJLpATwc I got some feedback f...

Re: JJazzLab 2.0 is out !
Hi Frank, Next version will let you manually configure the precount bars. Current JJazzLab version (2.0) decides 1 or 2 bars depending on the context. For example if song is 4/4 and tempo < 100 then precount is 1 bar, if tempo>=100 precount is 2 bars. For the other problem "1st beat is swallowed": I...

Re: JJazzLab 2.0 is out !
Normally precount is 1 or 2 bars, depending on the time signature and tempo. There is no way right now to adjust it manually. The number of beats using the "count in" differs from 3 to 8 beats.
In general I add a 1-bar section "start" which uses the Intro-A variation.

Re: JJazzLab 2.0 is out !
Yes, I received them and everything is fixed
JJazzLab can now "read" the 4 files, and it also always show the files being read in the log.
I'll use the autoupdate soon to distribute these fixes, together with other bug fixes.

Re: JJazzLab 2.0 is out !
Send me the files by email. Contact info is on the JJazzLab website. The log window is actually just a view of a log file which is in the <Netbeans User Directory>/var/log/messages.log. To find what is <Netbeans User Dir.> on your system: menu Help/About and search for the Netbeans User Dir. value. ...

Re: JJazzLab 2.0 is out !
This causes an exception and no styles are imported. Is it possible to configure the debug log to see which is the faulty style? I see the problem. In the next bug-fix release I will log the style file before it's processed, so in case of an unexpected error you'll know the faulty file... In the me...

Re: JJazzLab 2.0 is out !
Thank you very much fraslo, I'll update the Linux online help with your tips (I'm not a Linux specialist...) I was unable to find the chord symbol sus2 e.g. Csus2 (C,D,G), is it possible to add this symbol? For some harmonic reason all chord symbols must have a 3rd defined or a fourth. In your case ...
