Re: VST Amp/Pedal Sims

I use Audio Assault AHM 5050 most of the time - maybe 95% of the time. I use 3rd party IRs with it, although the stock ones are good too. I don't think the classic series by AA is named that way because they're emulating some of the best classic amps - it's just three of their oldest plugins. Althou...

Re: why use installers

Why use installers? Quite often I download a plugin or a standalone program, which is bundled in or packed with an installer, while just extracting and dropping the files somewhere seems to work just fine. Examples: for most plugins I just need to drop /plugin.lv2 or plugin.so into my relevant plug...

Re: Reach, new Reverb

I wanted to try the plugin, but Ardour gives me the error message "`GLIBCXX_3.4.30' not found". I am using Ubuntu 20.4 and Ardour 6.9. Is there anything I can do to solve the problem? @Sinuslabs Same on Ubuntu 21.04 here. I was curious about the plugin and I tested it by using WINE with t...

Does the download from the NI site also come with the Linux VSTs? Doesn't say anything about it... Hmm. Thanks for pointing out this. When I access the subpages for purchasing the items I am seeing this: PRODUCT INCLUDES Installer file downlaoads SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS 6 GB RAM (Recommended for large ...

Re: [Request for testing] Test MusE with HighDPI monitors

I have a Samsung 4k screen. The resolution I use is the "normal" 3840x2160 px. I used the latest AppImage and I don't think there is anything wrong with interface as such on the desktop environments I used for the test - XFCE and LXQT. The icons and the fonts look normal on Muse. Tried a f...

Re: AudioThing Linux version

Fog Convolver has a Linux version now too. I wonder if they keep adding them one by one so quickly that I can still utilize the cut down prices they've had their site since Black Friday.

Re: Poweramps available in Linux

I've tried the Guitarix creammachine and plexi plugins and I thought they sounded more like preamp plugins. There's lots of coloration, which doesn't really work after a preamp plugin that you intend to put before them. Airwindows powersag is a lot closer to the Ignite Amps TPA-1 poweramp plugin on ...

Re: jack_iodelay gives varying results

With USB cards the latency fluctuates all the time. The fluctuation should be within several milliseconds and that is normal for USB audio. This is also the case on Windows, but the information's often not available in "as honest terms" on that platform as is the case when using the jack_i...

Re: Auburn Sounds LENS Spectral Dynamics Plug-in

I bought it too. There were so many positive comments on it on Gearspace that I jumped on the discount while it's still available (however, I had to pay VAT additionally, so the price was really about 65 e). The moving graph now working helps a bit in understanding what the plugin does. I had wonder...

Re: Biotek and F'.Em $24 in jrrshop

I wanted to buy one of these, but the site asked for a telephone number, so I aborted the purchase process. I'm not a FOSS nut, but I'm definitely a data privacy nut. There's no reason for these companies to ask for your telephone number for something as simple as purchasing a software license. Than...

Re: Auburn Sounds LENS Spectral Dynamics Plug-in

Does the moving graphic element on the threshold / knee window work for anyone using the Linux version? I'm not seeing anything move there, unlike in the demos I've seen of the plugin.

Re: HY-Plugins

Thanks for the update. HY-Polysynth is pretty cool. The free version too (seriously, download it!). We already have many good soft synths on Linux (there's more of a need for more "organic" sounding virtual instruments), but hopefully this one will find its way into many Linux enthusiasts'...

Re: Plugin collections in kxstudio: which are hot and which are not?

Your list is missing at least Klangfalter (Impulse Response Loader), Dragonfly Reverb (best OSS reverb on Linux), Luftikus EQ (good for boosts, not just cutting) + the synths - Dexed, Helm, OB-Xd, Surge, Vital(ium). ... if you need synths in your music that is. There's also a plugin version of a ver...

Re: Ardour Linux Audio - 2022 still no useful pitch correction plugin like Melodyne available ?

https://github.com/mika314/melonix it's not a plugin (I hope it will some day) Melodyne works fine for me with Wine, but it works "offline", because ARA is not supported via bridges. And Ardour doesn't support ARA too. Afaik only the Reaper knows about ARA on Linux, Waveform support's it ...

Re: Ardour Linux Audio - 2022 still no useful pitch correction plugin like Melodyne available ?

I want to clarify a few things. Pitch tools are standard in almost every professional/commercial production these days. Productions without pitch tools have been the exception for a long time. Even great singers like Dimash use it from time to time and singers like Ma..... are completely lost (espe...
