Re: midi program change?

I am putting this to one side at this time. After trying qtractor and reaper, I found them both to be problematic. Maybe this will change in the future.

Re: midi program change?

Hi tavasti Thanks for the link, I went to install them and found them already installed in clara. Its all a bit out of my depth how to use them. I added a plug-in to the rack but they don’t show in the patch bay. The engine in clara is set to Jack. I have posted on the musescore forum but not found ...

midi program change?

Using clara and jack audio in AV linux I am sending midi data only (no audio) out of musescore and sending that data into the midi inputs in reaper. Easy to connect in clara and its working. The problem I have is that musescore appears to be sending a midi program change which changers the selected ...

Re: Luppp

I think I have worked around this by midi binding buttons on my ReMotE 25SL.
This looping feels a bit like juggling!

Re: Looping software

Thanks for the comments.
I think I will use Luppp, now that I finally work out how to get the loops in time.
SooperLooper is very powerful but I think the linear workflow holds it back a bit.
Haven't had a go with Kluppe.

Luppp

I am in the throws of learning to loop with Luppp and would appreciate some help. Is it possible to midi bind a button and record a clip when the blue box is over an empty clip box? This way I can use only one foot switch as a recording switch. This will save using multiple foot switchers, I hope th...

Looping software

I have just recently put together a looping setup base around a small computer and midi foot pedal. I have installed Luppp and SooperLooper. As I am completely new to this I am interested to know what software linux musicians here are using. What live looping software are you using? Anyone here usin...

Re: Midi binding in guitarix

No I made two of these foot switchers (Midi Mule). https://thoro.de/en/guitars/midi_mule/ I had to alter the code (see below) to get the switches, to all work in the right order. Linux with kxstudio is very powerful but its take a bit of study to get your head around how it all works. Only today for...

Re: Midi binding in guitarix

Hi tramp

Thanks for the post.
I managed to get it working right. The problem was on my side.
I had to change all the channels in the code of the arduino foot switch (Midi Mule).
They now are working in order I can select 8 different sound.
All sweet now.

Midi binding in guitarix

How do I use midi binding in guitarix? I have Ubuntu Studio installed with Kxstudio. Using Jack and Catia its all working great, by default I can scroll through 8 patches with my midi foot controller. But how do I customise my foot switchers? I would like two foot switchers to act like the up and do...

Re: How to separate Midi?

Using the Arduino IED I changed the channel in the code and updated the foot controller. Luppp is now recognising that there are two separate controllers, nice one. tramp “you need to select a exclusive midi channel in guitarix Options menu -> "Set Midi Channel" Thank you tramp, this is a pearl of i...

Re: How to separate Midi?

Yes I think your right.
Both are using channel one, so if I change the code on one to channel two
I think that will stop the confusion. I will try tomorrow.

Thanks tavasti

How to separate Midi?

I have two midi foot controllers that I made with the help of the arduino forum. They are both sending the same midi data. Now I want to use one to connect to looping software and the other to guitarix. How do I separate them in Jack? Is it possible to add another 0:Midi Through Port-0 in Jack? I ha...

Re: How to get midi working

Woe, what a lot of research but I have managed to work out how to get the game controller working. I found a program called QjoyPad 4.1 which is doing it nicely. Now I am using the guitar foot pedal to control Luppp while I play the guitar. Will have to make/buy anther midi control. Does anyone know...

Re: How to get midi working

I have had a break through with the help of “Ted’s Linux MIDI Guide” http://tedfelix.com/linux/linux-midi.html. :D I now have in QjackCtl the midi showing up under ALSA. komplete Audio 6 MIDI and 4 ports of my Roland MPU64. I really did not think the Roland would work. Now I have to find linux softw...
