FFADO with saffire LE

I'm looking for suggestions to getting this to work well in ubuntu studio. The main problem i'm gettting is there's too many frequent xruns on an interface that is supposed to be fully working for ffado. I've tried: 1. stopping all instances of pulseaudio through systemd --user 2. running with or wi...

Re: Thoughts on what audio interface to get

How about the SSL 2 / SSL 2 + ?

Re: Non session manager

I built a version of it. But this error message has me stumped. The path should be correct as well, but i'll recheck.

Re: TASCAM US 800

OK so don't use this for linux. It definitely doesn't work. So other than the 1 minute boot up time before the kernel registers the device. After a certain period of it running, there are a bunch of no responses to the usb request blocks, and there'll be a sudden spike in urb misses and the device w...

Non session manager

I've recently built a version of this, but when the i run ./non-session-manager , there's this message [non-session-manager] Error starting process: No such file or directory And all the options are greyed out. There's an nsm process listening but the rest of it isn't working. How do i solve this?

Re: 6 channel playback to 2 channel stereo in a US800 tascam

In the log file, there's a retire_capture_urb: <num> callbacks suppressed . Not sure what this really means for a usb device, so any help to stop this would be great

Re: 6 channel playback to 2 channel stereo in a US800 tascam

Slight pebkac right there. To solve some other issue i had the headphones put through a stereo to mono adaptor. So left and right separation works.

The crackles though are still there, and the soundcard occasionally disappears from usb

6 channel playback to 2 channel stereo in a US800 tascam

I'm using a tascam us-800. In pulseaudio, the jack module is loaded up with channels=6. The audio output is in stereo. Right now any audio that runs through pulseaudio generates periodic crackles. I tested jack only output using mplayer -ao jack <sample> & mplayer -ao pulse <sample>. And the pulseau...

TASCAM US-800

This is for the older discontinued model. And for ubuntu studio. They were going at really cheap prices then so this was a great chance to try it out ... To get this model to work on linux: 1. power on computer 2. power on usb device 2.1 tail -f /var/log/syslog 2.2 you'll see the kernel try to initi...

izotope elements 8 + wine

There was a time that izotope elements 8 was free for use. But running the installer with wine, the installer keeps trying to install into a different directory, like I: or F:, and even though winecfg is configured to point to the unix directories meant to be these drives, the installer says it isn'...

How to run win32 and win64 vsts together?

I'm trying to run a windows 64 bit vst. But when i drag and drop the VST dll into the carla rack, the carla log says: wine is a 64 bit installation and cannot be used with a 32 bit wineserver. I remember installing wine32-tools vs wine64-tools. Maybe this is causing a conflict. But how is everyone m...

Re: Venom 303 + carla

It turns out that for some reason VB-303 kills the audit daemon that was running, so every time it stuttered, there's a auditd with a D signifier. The other thing was the carla-bridge dies as well.

Re: Venom 303 + carla

someone else had it working in carla so i assume it's working fine. In eoan and disco, it's carla is version 2.00, so it should be working on anything running it, but somehow it isn't on mine.
