Re: Linux Mint 19.3 Tricia , the Software Manager and CsoundQt
Never mind - I've got enough other programs (besides Csound) to play with.

Re: Using K Brown Synth Plugins in Linux Mint?
Thank you all!
@ glowrak guy
Yes - I am already using most of the VST's you mention. The reason I'm interested in the K. Brown plugins is that I also want to have some free Buchla emulations. It looks like the only free Buchla emulation VST's available are those by K. Brown.

Using K Brown Synth Plugins in Linux Mint?
I would like to use the K Brown Synth Plugins on my Linux Mint computer. I tried them in Carla and LMMS but in both cases the user interfaces of the plugins were without text so that one couldn't see what the knobs were for. Has anybody here been more successful in using these VST plugins?

Re: Carla and Catia
The important thing for me is the ALSA-MIDI bridge. I saw a video about Aeolus where Catia is used to connect an external MIDI-keyboard to Aeolus, so I installed Catia to do the same with my virtual keyboard. And it worked. But then I tried the same with Carla and it also worked. So I'm wondering if...

Re: Carla and Catia
I use Carla as a plugin host and rack and also as a tool to make connections between synths, plugins, etc.

Re: Carla and Catia
No - Carla and Catia. Is there anything you can do with Catia that you cannot do with Carla?

Carla and Catia
I already use Carla and recently installed Catia too because of its ALSA-MIDI bridge. But it looks like Carla automatically deals with this issue.
So my question is: is there any reason to use Catia when you already use Carla?

Re: How to install Aeolus?
After some more attempts I have succeeded in installing Aeolus. Don't know why.
An important point is that you have to start QjackCtl first before starting Aeolus, otherwise Aeolus will do nothing upon clicking on its icon.
Hopefully I will now also get some sounds out of it....

Re: How to install Aeolus?
Problem is that after entering my password, the screen asking for my password immediately reappears. It keeps popping up, and the installation is never completed.khz wrote:Root password query.LinMusGuy wrote:What is happening here?

How to install Aeolus?
I am trying to install Aeolus from the repositories on my Linux Mint 19.2 Tina system by means of the Software Manager, but the installation isn't completed and I am repeatedly asked to authenticate the installation. See:

Re: Starting LMMS from a bash file on the desktop
I will leave it as it is for now. It's not such a big problem anyway, and who knows what problems I get into when I want to use .desktop-files. I'm going to concentrate somewhat more on making music, and less on the ins and outs of Linux.
