Re: EZDrummer alternative?
If it were me, I'd just stay within your host and use native plugins Apisonic Labs' Speedrum 2 or TAL-Drum, or DrumGizmo, along midi drum patterns and the sampled drums of your choice. I like to use Groove Monkee midi drum patterns and Drum Drops drum samples, but there's lots to choose from. To me...

Re: Setting up on Fedora
No pipewire If you are using Fedora, then I recommend strongly to use Pipewire. Pipewire essentially originates from RedHat (Fedora), and works great! The distro developers know what needs to be configured to make Pipewire work properly by default. You may need to put yourself into the Pipewire gro...

Re: Audiogridder
I've heard that there have been those who have been successful with using kvm/QEMU and a Windows install on a linux machine and then hosting an audiogridder server through there. Supposedly this combo provides lower latency than through trying to use the simulated audio card from the Windows VM. I p...

Re: Audiogridder
I'm actually looking into using AudioGridder as well. I'm looking for the absolute easiest way to tie my Linux DAW system to some Sampler tools that will not run on linux in WINE. I originally was (and I still am) considering tying my Linux DAW and an old Windows 10 laptop together with two audio i...

Re: Some serious shit going on!
For me it's a vulnerability introduced with xz that no-one needs. What was wrong with gzip and its algorithm? Not to mention bzip2 that led to a little bit more compression but wasn't really needed. Then people though that xz is the new hot shit although it's technically worse. Why do kiddies alway...

Re: Linux user got Ableton running in linux, made a video
Yeah, and needed to bump jack buffers to 8192 to avoid xruns What kind of Kernel, and what distro are you using? That was with Ubuntu 18.04 + liquorix kernel. Haven't tried recently, after biting the bullet and getting Bitwig I haven't been investigating running windows DAWs. Oh! I misunderstood! :...

Re: Arturia Midi Driver - has anybody got it working in WINE? (subject amended)
I just went back and read the first post. You have the 5 pin midi out on that keyboard. It will definitely work on Linux. You need to buy a $15 class compliant USB to midi cable, and use that to connect to the keyboard. Getting it to work isn't the issue, it's configuring the hardware that can't be...

Re: Arturia Midi Driver - has anybody got it working in WINE? (subject amended)
Hi, EDIT: this post was originally, erroneously, about the Arturia MIDI Control Centre. The actual problem is that the MIDI Driver installer says it doesn't recognise the operating system and won't install. https://primevalmudd.com/wp-content/uploads/Screenshot-from-2022-05-20-20-27-13.png This is ...

Re: Arturia Midi Driver - has anybody got it working in WINE? (subject amended)
I didn't read back through all of the other posts, so I apologize if this has already been suggested, but if you used KVM/QEMU and purchased a gray market Windows 11 license, you could use an actual install of Windows 11 from within your Linux machine, and everything would work just fine. The only d...

Re: I think it's that time of the year again
What are the tricks to identifying a bot? I haven’t noticed any here—although others have pointed them out. The only obvious bots I have recognized in the past were those annoying DiscoDSP support comments that were used on KVRAudio. A first-time poster replying to what may be a months or years old...
