General questions regarding the operation of guitarix

I like the software guitarix very much and I think it can do much more than I was able to figure out right now. I know there is manual https://sourceforge.net/p/guitarix/wiki/Main_Page/ and there is a tutorial https://libremusicproduction.com/articles/ultimate-guide-getting-started-guitarix.html Is ...

Guitar to MIDI Synthesizer

I am looking for a plugin to convert my guitar signal to MIDI or directly to another instruments sound. Like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWVFtHdCyas Do you know any similar Linux plugin. I don't have a bass guitar but I would like to record a bass track. So it would be cool to convert my g...

Re: Randall Cyclone amp sound in guitarix

First of all, to archive such brutal sounds, you need a IR file, maybe one of this may help That's great, I didn't know this 'effect'. Most of the presets already have a 'Cabinet' in the rack. Is the Convolver in combination with IR-files supposed to be used additional to the Cabinet or to replace ...

Our git repository contain the latest development, were the last release is just a snapshot of it from some time ago. I really didn't remember if the latest release contain already the options -D and -E. Yes it does. Will guitarix be updated automatically by apt-get update and apt-get upgrade If I ...

Re: Building guitarix from source code

Well, I'm the founder and current maintainer of the guitarix project. Please forgive me that I forget some stuff, as I do it now for nearly 12 Years. Thanks a lot for that great work! Forgive me all the questions I have :) This looks like you didn't run jackd with realtime privileges enabled. You a...

Re: Guitarix as a plugin?

When you add guitarix in Carla you get a window "Add JACK Aplication", there you've a field "Command". The command should be: guitarix -D -E that doesn't work: guitarix -D -E Unknown option -D use "guitarix -h" to get a help text fatal system error: Guitarix Commandline Option Error *** Unknown opt...

Re: Guitarix as a plugin?

I think that the lv2 plugin created this way don't work as expected. The output is louder then the standalone application. The Master Volume is almost useless. And I think that the stereo plugins (gx_head_fx) are skipped, only the first stage (mono) is running (no reverb in the output). Yes, I thin...

Re: run All of Guitarix as a plugin?

While all guitarix plugins works in Qtractor, that isn't true for Ardour. They only work (with GUI) in Ardour, when you use Guitarix and Ardour from the same (your) distribution. When you use Ardour from ardour.org, you are lost. I am using ardour and guitarix from the same distribution (debian 10)...
