Re: Ultralite AVB

On my machine I use hw:0 with jack, not hw:0,0 and it works. Pulseaudio makes no problems since I configured it to use jack_sink and never try to access the Ultralite directly. See also http://marzen.de/Holger/pulseaudio_and_jack/ One reason having problems to use ALSA may be a system wide redirect...

Re: Ultralite AVB - Drumfix driver

So I realized that I did not properly install @Drumfix's motu-avb driver, and that all of this time things have worked with only occasional dropouts. Today I set out to do things right and compiled the latest Liquorix kernel with the necessary edits for vendor mode. I ran into problems using the dr...

Mitigantions=off?

I have a dedicated computer for audio which I occasionally use on the internet via Wi-Fi. I was thinking of building another kernel without mitigations and my particular wi-fi card disabled. I still need networking to control my MOTU 8pre-ES that is directly connected to my computer via LAN to contr...

Re: Ultralite AVB - Drumfix driver

Did you blacklist ua101? Isn't the dkms-module called motu.ko? Thanks for your reply. Following Drumfix 's advise in resolving an issue( https://github.com/Drumfix/motu-avb-usb/issues/5#issuecomment-873286608 , it is motu-avb.ko, which is confusing because I do find a motu.ko.xz located in /var/lib...

I had to comment out the line with

Code: Select all

MODULE_SUPPORTED_DEVICE("{{Motu, AVB Series}}");

Thanks for the tip!

Kernel 5.15.134 with the ua101-patch.

Thanks. I was using 4.19.xxx with the ua101 patch. Currently running AVLinux with 6.2 Liquorix kernel. When I get some time I'll have to look into how to apply that patch to the kernel I'm currently running.

Re: Ultralite AVB

Since I am completely happy with @Drumfix's ua101-replacement I didn't try other solutions (except for his dkms driver which isn't that stable as the ua101-replacement). Although the dkms driver has been fairly stable for me, the ua101 patch was rock solid. I never had a single problem. I have sinc...

Re: Ultralite AVB

The new firmware has been working great for me but if I have firefox open to manipulate the internal mixer settings it will occasionally swap channels.

Re: Ultralite AVB

AudioNarwhal The latest firmware has been working flawlessness until the other night when immediately upon startup audio had a bit crushing sound. I've never had it happen immediately. I restarted jack and it was fine for the rest of the session. It has not happened since. I don't know if it happen...

Re: Ultralite AVB

@AudioNarwhal Running 1.4.5 in my 8pre-ES. It has been rock solid. On the previous firmware it would have acted up at least a couple of times and often more than that during the past 10 days. Thanks again! Nice to hear that superb Could you please add whether you are running with or without a kerne...

Re: Ultralite AVB

@AudioNarwhal

I'm on the 1.4.4+92559 firmware which has been working without fault for four sessions so far. If it would be helpful to you I can stay on it, or switch to your latest firmware. Please advise.

Thanks!

Re: Ultralite AVB

If the drumfix driver is working well except for occasional channel walking / distortion on playback then you could try using only the firmware. If you are getting issues in the record direction I think the normal or patched usb audio class driver would be worth trying. Edit: The firmware fix, for ...

Re: Ultralite AVB

I am hoping next week I will be able to post firmware for the mk4 and 828es variants. Firmware recovery in the playback direction is seeming pretty robust, but the record direction is still presenting some difficulties. I'm having some difficulties with the Mk4 build job, so that may have to wait u...
