Re: Rode Podcaster

Please share your Jack settings again, show the parameters, not the advanced tab. The previous photo was the advanced tab.

Re: Rode Podcaster

Okies. Slowly getting there... (although I do seem to have thrown myself into an out of space loop, I’ll fix that later unless the kernel upgrade has caused it. Had enough space before) This happens when the partition which holds the kernels, usually the root partition is low disk space. This happe...

Re: Rode Podcaster

Updated firmware to latest, no change. Looking a bit closer, it looks like the kernel already has a special case for this device: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/tree/sound/usb/format.c?h=v5.8#n412 - but since relatively recently (June this year). Perhaps you're s...

Re: Moderation on linuxmusicians.com?

I don't really understand why all the shit posts in this topic, as I think milk actually brings up valid points and haven't seen a real response to it. Maybe I'm missing something though. Tbh it's rather annoying imho. It's not a good scene. Aren't topics called topics for a reason?

Re: Getting Jack xrun errors - over/underrun?

Possible? Yeah, you could but what do you gain. I have no experience with building custom kernel. so recommend relying on the kernel images from the distribution until there is a solid reason to build your own. My take is... I don't want to be messing with that low level detail. Least amount of head...

Re: Installing a Liquorix Kernel

Should I also enable the threadirqs option again for this kernel? It's a PREEMPT Kernel: Linux marco 5.6.0-18.1-liquorix-amd64 #1 ZEN SMP PREEMPT liquorix 5.6-20.1~buster (2020-06-10) x86_64 GNU/Linux But the realtimeconfigscript still complains at this point: == GUI-enabled checks == Checking if y...

Re: Installing a Liquorix Kernel

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install linux-image-liquorix-amd64 linux-headers-liquorix-amd64
You only need to install the packages ^

These are so called meta packages, meaning they will always install the latest version when there are updates. Liquorix kernel updates frequently aka rolling release.

Re: Installing a Liquorix Kernel

I have installed it under Debian 10 by following the instructions on the website. No issues so far and like openmastering said, it feels snappier and buttery smooth. hands down the best experience I've had with Jack and linux.

Re: BitWig Summer Special $100 discount

I've had great experience with it so far, inder Debian 10... zero crashes and rarely an xrun, if ever. Ubuntu is based on Debian, so that helps. I can't answer your question about support though.
