Re: Screen resolution question

Note that for your HDMI ports to allow more than fullHD rez they need to be at least V 1.4, and so should the HDMI cord, so that point has to be checked at least for the cord and enventually see if the screen device menu has settings about various ports and protocols. Hopefully it's just that the HD...

Re: Screen resolution question

There are two things you'd better check in order to know what and how you could do how and what: 1) in a console (aka Terminal) type the command xrandr: xrandr it will list you *all* the screens available and which resolutions the one connected is capable of, example: xrandr Screen 0: minimum 8 x 8,...

Re: What is your favorite female vocalist?

Currently my favourite is Kacey Musgraves. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IS6fWkZkrFc I've been listening to the "Golden Hour" album a couple of times a week for nearly two years and it never fails to move me and often bring tears of joy. Her voice has such a beautiful purity. Wonderful songwriter...

Re: screen blanker isues

Not using Ubuntu nor AVL so that's a shot in the dark (grin fact) but what gives:

Code: Select all

 xset q | grep -A4 ^DPMS
and in case it says otherwise than "DPMS is Disabled" try:

Code: Select all

xset dpms 0 0 0
xset s off -dpms
(sure seems redundant and then some but on some confs and ware it goes so, so...)

If your reply has the tone of a banjo, you should be both banned and excommunicated.
Wouldn't it be quite a Deliverance then? If so should I better find first my bow or my guitar?

Re: Reccomendations for vocal placeholders/vox/chorus

It might depend on what kind/style/pitch of singing or what flow/tempo you'll need. Over the years, I've used mainly (rep to voice pitch) concert flute or oboe or english-horn for most of my "more lyrical" songs while mostly using the saxophone (pitch related) for more rocky or ruggy or speedy stuff...

Please help! What is the time signature of this drum sample, that comes with Garageband, but I no longer have the software. I'm curious what time signature this is. https://soundcloud.com/msphinct/drums-from-garage-band-electro-beat Thanks! Well, in case it'd help, I'd see it as a 16 loop of that s...
