All done!
FYI, Linux 6.8 (released two weeks ago) adds support for the 4th Gen Scarlett Solo, 2i2, and 4i4 and firmware upgrades, and I've released alsa-scarlett-gui 0.4.0 which looks nice and supports all the things! Backports of the driver to previous Linux kernel versions are also available if your distro ...

Re: Fundraiser: Expediting Linux Support for Focusrite Scarlett 4th Gen Devices
Hey there. I didn't notice any mention of ARM. Would this work port to/compile for ARM OK? I don't see why it wouldn't work; as far as I know there's nothing x86_64-specific about it, but I don't have such a system so can't check myself. Please try it out if you can, and let me know if you have any...

Re: Routing with Focusrite Scarlett Gen 3 18i8
Hi Cansao! After a few months of using a Scartlett 2i2 with UbuntuStudio 22.04, I purchased a Scarlett 18i8 (Gen 3) because of the possibilities I have with my group. The control panel works fine (I'm really impressed of the achieved work!!); That's great, thank you! the issue I have is that I'm not...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett Gen 4 mixer driver
Hi radman ! Looks like the Linux 6.7 kernel release has some work done around the scarlett2 driver: https://kernelnewbies.org/Linux_6.7 This looks like a bit of initial refactoring and some support added for Clarett, plus a few other things: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/l...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett Gen 2/3 Control Panel GUI
@patrick Now what happens when the interface is in standalone mode ? The 18i20 is a great audio router / mixer and I have some use cases where it will not be attached to a computer. I this case, the hardware is responsible for setting the sample rate, isn't it ? For straight-up audio mixing, the sa...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett Gen 4 mixer driver
Philix , I had some more thoughts... If you only need to deal with 2 channels of audio going to/from your interface, then it's easiest to use alsa-scarlett-gui to set up the first two channels (AUX0 and AUX1 in PipeWire) to route where you want. Then with the Pro Audio profile any non-pro app will ...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett Gen 4 mixer driver
Hi Philix ! Congrats on your new Scarlett 4i4 4th Gen! I hope I can point you in the right direction! Regarding your mention of "use pro audio mode and jack" vs. "without pro audio mode and with alsa", it's essential to clarify that if you're using PipeWire, then you're always us...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett Gen 2/3 Control Panel GUI
Hi crustypants , @crustypants I'm pretty sure that anything dated 2014 is going to be gen 1: the gen 2 models came out (IIRC) in 2015. What model do you have? Just bought myself a 3rd Gen 8i6, and planning to sell the 1st gen 6i6. This should be supported right? It says something about mass storage ...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett Gen 2/3 Control Panel GUI
Hi Patrick, The hardware doesn't set the sample rate: rather, it uses (if supported) whatever rate is requested by the app / service which owns it (ALSA client, JACK or Pipewire daemon). Thank you for this clarification. Indeed, I never gave it a second thought about it when recording / playing back...

Re: dspMixFX / Steinberg
Meanwhile I tried again with WINE and now at least the software starts up. But it dos not find the interface. It obviously relies on some feature not translated by WINE or the USB interface is locked by the system. I think, if anybody had been able to get it working, we would know it by now....
