New streaming piece

My new piece On The Origin of the Worlds is streaming at www.originoftheworlds.net. The audio is generated in real-time by a SuperCollider patch running on the server and streamed using IceCast as it is created. Tune in and have a listen!

SUCCESS!!! Thanks, ubuntuuser! I installed 4.11 following your instructions and Waves Central successfully installed a plugin. Now, to see if we can get it working in a Linux host using LinVist.

Re: Waves Plugins INnstall Fail

I have the following overrides listed in wineconfig:

d2d1
ierutil
mfc140
mfc42
mfc42u
nsi

All are native, builtin.

I do have Windows 10 installed on another hard drive on this machine. Would it make sense to use Windows dlls? I have no experience with that.

Re: Waves Plugins INnstall Fail

Typed wine robocopy in a terminal window. Robocopy started up and didn't throw any unexpected errors, just instructions on usage because I didn't supply any arguments. Confirmed that winbind was installed. I don't know if this is possibly something with my version of wine? I've got version 4.15-bion...

Re: Waves Plugins INnstall Fail

Kernel incompatibilities doesn't make sense intuitively, but who knows. I did try deleting the registry entries, pasting the text from above in a new .reg file, and importing into regedit. I then reinstalled Waves Central and attempted to install some plugins, and that also failed.I think I'm going ...

Re: Waves Plugins INnstall Fail

Okay, I checked to make sure that all of the overrides were correct and the necessary dlls were in the correct directories. They were. Robocopy was installed via rktools, but I uninstalled it and reinstalled for good measure. I checked to make sure that the envorinment variables were correctly set i...

Re: TC Electronic Konnect 24D

Nothing new I'm afraid. Was thinking to take this case further with the ffado community, but already spend some time on this, so right now I'm gonna have to throw in the towel and work in Windows 10 until I get this working. I managed to get the StudioKonnekt working by blacklisting the ALSA driver...

Waves Plugins INnstall Fail

I've been trying to install Waves plugins using the instructions on this website: https://blog.inagaki.in/en/linux-waves-plugins-en/ I followed the instructions closely, installed necessary dlls and set up overrides and environment variables as described on the page. I also installed robocopy as per...

TC StudioKonnekt 48 Issue Potentially Solved

I’ve been trying to get my old TC Electronics StudioKonnekt working under Linux, with little success. The device was recognized and I could get sound out of it, but I was getting constant dropouts. Found an old post on this forum in which someone suggested using fffado rather than alsa. Blacklisted ...

Re: TC Electronic Konnect 24D

Any news? I have a trusty old TC StudioKonnekt 48 I’d love to get working under Linux. My issues are similar- constant dropouts/stuttering, can’t get below 256 sample buffer. Ubuntu 18.04 with low-latency kernel here.

Re: Decent Interface in the $800-$1000 Range

I should mention that I decided to hang on to my X32 for now. I don’t love how bulky it is, and the sound quality is mediocre (for studio use- it’s great for live work.) But it does work flawlessly with Linux. In the meantime, I’m investigating how to get my TC StudioKonnekt work under Linux.

Re: Decent Interface in the $800-$1000 Range

Yes, I just did a fresh install of Ubuntu 18.04 with a low-latency kernel and the StudioKonnekt is detected and system sounds will play through it. I'm still kind of struggling with trying to get it to work with jack and apps, but that's a topic for another thread.

Decent Interface in the $800-$1000 Range

I'm currently using a Behringer X32 digital mixer with my Linux machine. It works well, but I'm not crazy about the sound and bulky form factor and I'm thinking of replacing it. In a prior life, I worked in a recording studio and got to work with high-end converters (Apogee, Metric Halo, Lynx, etc.)...

Re: Can't install wineasio

Any tips or links to tutorials on how to use wine-staging with Ubuntu 18.04 and wineasio? I also wasted a bunch of time trying to get wineasio to work to no avail.

Best Practices fpr FireWire audio in mid-2018?

Hello all, I can't seem to find much useful information about configuring Firewire audio interfaces using the current Alsa drivers supplied with the kernel. Most of the documentation I'm seeing about Firewire audio on Linux is in regards to FFADO and seems to be older. I have read a few reports of s...
