QuNexus and Linux

I thought I'd relay this information as some may find it useful. I recently purchased a QuNexus and at first was bit disappointed as some keys were not responding well. However, once I tried a few different synths I found that specific ones were actually quite amazing and the touch on all keys was a...

Re: did this latest KX update brake my system

I may have pushed the panic button. A reboot set everything back to order.

What just happened?

clear xruns from command line

Is there a way to clear xruns from the command line? It seems like the only apps that effectively clear them use a LADISH front end.

Re: vember audio surge is now opensource

One thing I can recommend is to clear the VST and blacklist cache (of your DAW or Host) and rescan VST's after a clean install.

Re: vember audio surge is now opensource

I used Debian 9 and build it locally. I have had these pops too and attributed it to my sound card. I just tested in Mixbus 5 and it sounded great, with no pops. I then tried Renoise and it popped a lot. Like badly. I then tried Bitwig 8 Track and it sounded great. Back to Renoise and everything was...

Re: vember audio surge is now opensource

For building it is important to build the VST2 version and use the correct SDK. It has to use the VST2 SDK that is the VST 2 version to work as the VST3 is not functioning in Linux. Once built it's important to note that on Linux for user-made presets, the folder is ~/Documents/Surge and for Surge f...

Re: vember audio surge is now opensource

I am using Debian Stretch with KDE plasma and the git version builds in Linux with close to full functionality. It's still in testing mode but it's highly testable. 8) There are a few issues, for example with resizing and menus to be fully operational and some elements are not lighting up properly b...

Re: Ways to make current hardware + software work?

If you are using Linux Mint 19 I think you will run into problems. I tried it and went back to 18.3 There is something messed up with the ALSA to JACK bridge. Waveform9 was a disaster and energyXT using WINE-RT (32 bit) wouldn't even run when using WINEASIO. WINE-staging did not resolve the issue. W...

Re: Ways to make current hardware + software work?

To get your FTP working I would recommend reading this tutorial. The important part is PART III - SYSTEM CONFIGURATION. http://joegiampaoli.blogspot.com/2011/06/m-audio-fast-track-pro-for-debian-linux.html Once you do these steps and have rebooted, you may have to use QJACKCTL to get it recognised. ...
