Re: Ultralite AVB

Hello Drumfix and Bluebell, You can force loading of the driver on boot That is what I wanted to "test further". It solves my issue. In /etc/modules-load.d/motu.conf : snd_ua101 And in my /etc/modprobe.d/alsa.conf the options to fit my setup : options snd_ua101 samplerate=48000 midi=1 inde...

Re: Ultralite AVB

Hello, I'm the user with the 828ES. I thought it worked but it did not today. The dmesg log is the same : [ +0,000000] usb 1-10: Product: 828ES [ +0,000001] usb 1-10: Manufacturer: MOTU [ +0,019292] usb 1-10: clock source 1 is not valid, cannot use [ +0,832307] usb 1-10: clock source 1 is not valid,...

Re: Ultralite AVB

AFAIR, it's better to set the sample-rate in a script as well, since the interface keeps it's settings/presets somehow sample-rate specific. For me, the Interface changes samplerate to 192kHz when booting up a USB-connected PC sometimes. In other words: It doesn't "remember" the eq becaus...

Re: MOTU 828es, The ultimate Linux audio interface ?

Is this how all of them are or are you experiencing some kind of a big? From the other thread about Motu cards, it seems some users are experiencing it. It's not a critical bug, as you only have to switch back to the correct sample rate from the web interface, and apply the mixer settings again as ...

Re: MOTU 828es, The ultimate Linux audio interface ?

Questions welcome, I can test different things. Did you manage to get the card to sync correctly when turning it on ? Everytime I turn the sound card off/on, the card syncs to a clock to 192k. I have to apply the preset again on the web interface to go back to the correct samplerate, and then I can...

Yes, everything works fine, from MIDI to both ADAT. The only annoying thing is the ALSA fuckery. But I don't have the knowledge to investigate further.

Re: Ultralite AVB

Aside from that, there is one really serious issue that I am wondering if anyone else has encountered. Occasionally when there are xruns, instead of hearing a normal momentary pop, I hear a horrible crackling noise that sounds somewhat like a bitcrusher effect mixed with the music. The original sig...

Re: ALSA - Using slots with multiple snd_usb_audio drivers

The "action" should run some app that calls alsa apis to make the desired assignment.
This is where I don't know what to do. I understood I had to use a udev rule to detect the hot pug, but after that...

ALSA - Using slots with multiple snd_usb_audio drivers

Hi, Everything works fine on my system, but I find it annoying to make sure I'm booting up with my sound card on because ALSA will re-allocate the 0 index to my MIDI keyboard... I'm using this alsa.conf for the loading order : options snd cards_limit=7 alias snd-card-0 snd-usb-audio alias snd-card-1...

Re: Ultralite AVB

Hey Musinux, I just posted on the 828ES thread, but I have the same issue as you : - switching sample rate (i.e. with jack) will not work at first attempt, starting jack like 3 times makes it switch - sample rate after power-on is not reliable set at what you want As I wrote, ALSA makes it weird... ...

Re: MOTU 828es, The ultimate Linux audio interface ?

Hey, Anyone using it also ? I encounter a weird problem. It does not prevent me from using the sound card, but it is annoying. When I plug it in, I get this dmesg : usb 1-12: new high-speed USB device number 6 using xhci_hcd usb 1-12: clock source 1 is not valid, cannot use It makes the soundcard ch...
