gphoto compatible Camera to video record and stream
I'm looking for a used digicam that's compatible with http://www.gphoto.org/doc/remote (Liveview / Webcam column) so it can be used as webcam as well. Preferably it should also have a fast wide angle lens, minimum 4x optical zoom, image stabilization and be able to record 720p video with decent auto...

Re: A linux musician's video meeting?
Our broadband seems to be jumpy today and I've run out of 4G bandwidth.

Great! Got the impression elsewhere that netjack could be dodgy so good to see it working for someone.

Software mixer for various desktop sources, ALSA only
Is there such a thing? Similar to volume sliders in Pulse for various sources (like a browser, youtube client, game, etc.) to adjust them independently Took a look at https://packages.debian.org/stable/sound but couldn't find alsamixer and alike, ie. master level only for all outputs. Even if jack w...

@digitsun apt-cdrom add may work with fancy CD/DVD drives. https://wiki.debian.org/SourcesList#CD-ROM https://manpages.debian.org/stretch/apt/apt-cdrom.8.en.html If you want to use the iso instead, mount it and tell sources.list to use and trust it: deb [trusted=yes] file:///media/avlinux-iso-mount...

Re: Small guitar interfaces that work with Linux
OK, in that case I do hope a good mini box is available. Thanks for the ALSA details and bug report effort. I'm curious about the bit rate and whether it'll ever be a critical requirement. 16 bit is probably sufficient if the preamp is quiet enough? Saying that as I'm I'm only aware of headroom vs. ...

Re: Small guitar interfaces that work with Linux
I'm looking for a small, guitar-focused (high-impedance instrument input) USB audio interface to go on a small pedalboard with a Raspberry Pi and a footswitch controller. Here are some that I've come across, but no way of knowing if they work with Linux without trying them: https://orangeamps.com/o...
