Re: OllFe live - second live looping electro performance

we dont want to bring prearranged loops on stage. All you can hear is done in this moment. The drum sounds are coming from my drumcomputer (2box drumit5), the little box on my drum rack. With the big (squared) pads (Roland Oktapad-80 & Alesis Controlpad) I only control "record" and &q...

Re: OllFe live - second live looping electro performance

https://youtu.be/RFDtjJPV8sY Heyho boys and girls, I happy to present a video from our second time out of rehearsal room. After months of jamming and playing with our setup its time to come in front of some audience ;) OK, here we talk about 20 people, but its enough for the "concert-feeling&q...

Re: New Live Music Control Application

I've been writing and using this over the last few years and was wondering if there is any interest in open sourcing it . It's written using GTK and WebKit and can control guitarix, sooperlooper, fluidsynth, hydrogen and a few others. I'm looking for feedback and interest levels. Here is a quick ov...

:)
Schneller, ab sofort!

Great work, guitarix could be a harmful Linux gateway drug for some of those musos always looking to try yet another VST without paying 50+ for a commercial one

Re: Need some help - Linux distros

@CrocoDuck: I absolutely agree w/ you on the rolling release distro's. Another downside of them is that it is very risky or impossible to use another (extra) repository other than the distro's own. So no KXStudio reopo's for a rolling release of Debian might be possible (I dunno for sure) but most ...

I looked at TB for a replacement interface, since my laptop has a TB-equipped USB-C interface, but that really seems like a minority market unless you're willing to go full Mac.

- did you find any TB-to-FW adapters while looking? (if such gizmoz even existsz?)

Re: New Interface - USB, TB, or FireWire?

So... I think my trusty M-Audio Profire 2626 FireWire interface (8x8 analogue I/O) is dead. I still have some testing to fully determine if it's the interface or the controller. But if the interface is in fact dead, I'll need to consider what to replace it with. I'm going to make a case to replace ...

Re: Software and tools to better understand and appreciate music?

There is also the Music Animation Machine: http://www.musanim.com/Player/ . Unfortunately this is Windows only software. I tried to run it under Wine once but couldn't get it working. Here is an example of what it does: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipzR9bhei_o . It also has a circle of 5ths mode...

Re: Software and tools to better understand and appreciate music?

Hello, suppose you have discovered a new musical piece, and it turns out you like it. I am looking for software that can help to answer the question: What makes this music good? Besides pure listening (learning to analyze it by ear or just brute force listening to it many times) what software do yo...

Re: Scarlett 2i2 and Solo

There are many ways to use multiple, unsynced audio adapters, like alsa_in/out, zita-a2j/j2a, jackd's audioadapter and so on. I tried them all and wasn't satisfied with latency and stability. But of course you can try them. Maybe they suit your needs. If you need an interface with a low buffer size...
