Re: Line6 HX stomp / HXedit
OK. Is there anything like Edit > Preferences > Setup ? Thinking about it the app I use isn't an official Roland one -- it's third party, so it uses MIDI SysEx to control the synth. The app I use, then, only needs to make a MIDI connection with the synth. This app you're using could be different. I...

Re: Line6 HX stomp / HXedit
I have tried connecting it to 3 different pc's because of the weird description I get from lsusb. It gives different descriptions on each of them: Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0e41:4246 Line6, Inc USB Receiver Bus 001 Device 005: ID 0e41:4246 Line6, Inc. Bus 002 Device 029: ID 0e41:4246 Line6, Inc. Line6 HX stomp / HXedit
I have a line6 HX stomp. It comes with an GUI interface to control and tweak it's presets and parameters. GUI is called HXedit.exe and it installs and runs fine in wine, but of course it needs to connect to the unit somehow. This unit has midi in/out capabilities for connecting a midi floorboard or ...

Re: Polyverse Gatekeeper airwave/linvst/wine
Just wanted to report back.. It's 2020 now and Gatekeeper run without problems on my system using native linux version of Bitwig and the https://github.com/robbert-vdh/yabridge wine vst wrapper. Brushes work and no openGL errors anymore

Arduino/raspberry midi board ?
Hey guys I would like to try making my own midi board/footcontroller. It will be placed in either a homemade steelcase or inside the case of an old broken slightly customized board/pedal. Haven't decided yet. First of all I need to figure out how to make it work and what to put inside. I need someth...

Re: JACK xruns because of Wifi - Any workarounds?
I have an old linksys wrt54GL I got for free. I have flashed the firmware in it with openWRT, in order to make it do some more advanced stuff that has been disabled by the manufacturer. One of these things is to make its wireless connect to the main wifi on the ISP/router in the other end of the hou...

Re: Haven: Keep Watch - Snowden’s New App (GPLv3)
I get your point.. but.. This should never have been posted in here on a music forum. For me music, art, hobbies, science, programming is a "safe haven" from politics, religion, fear mongering, breaking news, the boogieman etc. When I make music I have no other mission than, telling a stor...

Re: Haven: Keep Watch - Snowden’s New App (GPLv3)
I really try to understand what it is.. but everytime I read about it or watch yt videos that explains about haven, I just keep getting dumber and dumber. For some weird reason my BS detector is ringing on this one. Again..

Re: VLC to start using JACK in AUTO?
Is there a GUI tool that can restart pulseaudio when JACK is toggled? Maybe add a feature request to QJackCtl? I don't think so.. but.. in terminal write: pulseaudio -k with tabcompletion it is probably just as quick as clicking an icon.. make a bash script an put on your desktop so you can click i...

Re: jack not working says cannot start server
You are using the jack called jack2 You can also control it with other commands. Examples: jack_control status jack_control start jack_control stop etc.. Try writing jack_ and hit your tab button (auto-completion) to see how many commands there are.. there is a man page for most of them. If you do a...

Re: VLC to start using JACK in AUTO?
BTW... Another way is to install the pulseaudio-jack package .. on Arch it is in official repo. This means that you load up jack, restart pulseaudio and it will automaticly connect to a jack sink instead of your soundcard, which is now owned by jack. When you exit and stop jack, you just restart pul...

Re: Is a realtime kernel needed?
This is a lot of great answers and explanations.. Thanks.. :) I always thought rt-kernels and lowlatency-kernels was the same thing. I mostly record guitars and have always used effects processors and direct monitoring, but I am trying to make a light transportable setup also with a laptop and a sou...
