Re: Ardour : Display the Chord Name while playing

I'm not aware of such a feature in Ardour or a dedicated app/plugin. What is the purpose for this? Is it to identify chords that you don't know? If you played C, F, and G? Would you expect it to use the order of the notes on the keyboard - so Csus4, or would you expect it to work out the context you...

Re: Rhapsody run Installer stops at License, how to proceed?

@d.healey I use the Enlightenment Terminology terminal and I've just downloaded Rhapsody and am excited to install it but when the '.run' file launches in the terminal it blurps out all the license info and when I scroll down through it all I can't seem to continue to the actual install. It seems I...

Re: Help compiing Polyphone for Debian based distro

There is a .deb available for Ubuntu - https://www.polyphone.io/software

You might need to install some dependencies to get it to work on Debian though.

Do you have a link to the build instructions? I had a quick look at the github readme but didn't see any.

Re: What's the simplest way to get started making a plugin (VST3)?

There is HISE in https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/ycollet/audinux/package/HISE/ but I didn't test it, so can't tell is it works properly or not. I consider to add Fedora (and deb) builds in our openSUSE proaudio repo. They're out of date (which isn't surprising given how frequently HISE is u...

Another vote for HISE, and here's my YouTube channel full of HISE tutorials - https://www.youtube.com/@DHealey Like with any new skill there is a learning curve, and for non-software engineers it is initially quite steep, but then it quickly becomes smoother :) D Healey in the (virtual) flesh! Re: CollaB3 V2 for Linux ?

I don't know how one would go about building this - there are no instructions. Unfortunately it's not straight forward. You'd need to setup your system for building HISE with Faust first. Use my development branch - https://github.com/davidhealey/HISE/tree/development If you're on a recent Debian b...

Re: CollaB3 V2 for Linux ?

So the link to the source code is included in the product license... https://sampleson.com/collabsrc.html

Unfortunately I won't be able to build it for you. I didn't realise but it uses Faust based effects and my build system isn't setup with Faust.

Re: CollaB3 V2 for Linux ?

My involvement was minor, mostly code cleanup. But the code was GPL so it should still be GPL - did Sampleson provide the source code or a method to access it with your purchase? If you send me a link to the source I can compile a Linux VST3 for you.

Re: Ghost/Background notes

The editor will show all the notes from the selected parts at once. However, you can only edit the notes of one part at a time. I can select, and edit, notes from different parts simultaneously (moving, lengthening, deleting, copying/pasting). But not cc data. Or is that a bug, not a feature :) It ...
