Re: Audio myths debunked and more - Podcast w Ethan Winer

Good interview. Thanks for sharing this.

I have wondered about bass traps, and whether I should worry about them. Maybe I'll do some more reading on the subject.

Re: Vinyl Fx Sample

I used the Calf Vinyl plugin on a track once and was pretty happy with the result. But I think this would have been even better. Thanks for sharing this!

Re: Transition dub techno electro

Cool track. Lots of interesting electro sounds and a hip rhythm. I thought maybe the reverb was a bit overboard, but that's par for the course in dub techno. The workflow notes were also interesting.

Re: Piano prelude (recorded on a real grand <3)

Such a pleasure to play a really nice instrument! I am less familiar with book 2, so I didn't know this piece. But in general, I think I could be satisfied to be stuck on a desert island forever with only Bach to listen to.

Re: How to connect Roland e-drums with audo interface and Hydrogen?

I think channel 10 is standard for drums, as in here: https://rolandus.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/204089119-JD-Xi-MIDI-Channels?mobile_site=true I am not a midi guru, though. Also you might find your answer in the Hydrogen manual: http://hydrogen-music.org/documentation/manual/manual_en.html#sect...

Re: Saint Tinnitus Dance, One.

The ogg played just fine. This was an interesting listen. Quite jarring, as others have observed, but creative and with enough variation to keep it interesting. It reminds me of a 20 min ambient guitar duet I once recorded as a teenager, which mostly consisted of feedback with heavy distortion and r...

Re: Gate of Aldebaran - Sunrise on Teegarden b [space music]

I finished the trilogy! These three pieces might be my favorite of all the recordings you have posted here. Certainly in the top 5. (That Kraftwerk-inspired piece was pretty awesome too.) I especially like the pitch-sliding synth in this piece.

Re: Saint Tinnitus Dance, One.

I can't get it to play on my phone or desktop. Got an error message about a corrupt file. Do you have an audio-only version? Or can you post it to a video streaming service? Sorry to hear about your tinnitus. That can be a very distressing symptom for some patients, and there usually isn't much that...

I enjoyed this track. The polyrhythms at the beginning were mind-bending.

I also enjoyed the guitar work. I listened to the whole album a couple of times through and thought it was interesting and relaxing, a pleasurable way to spend the lunch hour!

Re: How to connect Roland e-drums with audo interface and Hydrogen?

I've never tried to record midi in hydrogen, but I have used a similar Roland kit with LMMS and it worked fine. The unit I used had a direct USB midi out.

Maybe check if it is a midi channel problem?

Also try recording midi from the drums in another linux app like lmms, qtractor, etc.

Re: Replacing/improving my windows+voicemeeter setup?

Currently using more than one sound interface is possible but not easy on Linux. I have very little experience with doing it, but I think it is done at the ALSA level. A few workarounds: 1) Plug your Boss as an analog input into the Behringer. As you said, this may increase your noise level. 2) Rest...

Also a quick plug for the AVL Drumkits lv2: http://x42-plugins.com/x42/x42-avldrums

It is a little lighter than DrumGizmo, but easy to get great sound out of.
