I'm curious, who is actually using Wine for anything else but audio?

The main use seems to be games.

The emulator itself is legal.
Obtaining the roms from your own equipment is also legal most places.

Re: Continuing the jack/pipewire debate...

Just a reminder that Pipewire isn't just an audio system but is also intended to allow hard real time work with video too. Is this for things like Zoom or Skype etc..? It's still in progress but as I understand it it's for multiple video and audio streams in professional video systems. The way I th...

Other than that, Pipewire seems to just work. But I find the qpwgraph interface to be quite ugly. Is it possible to use Cadence to make graph connections?

Patchance can also be used to control the graph. (It's also built into RaySession)

Re: Fundraiser: Expediting Linux Support for Focusrite Scarlett 4th Gen Devices

Very nice. I was looking into a new audio interface and had rejected Focusrite because of driver stuff.
This majorly changes things :)

Note that Type A is now part of the standard so this should be less of a problem in the future.

Re: No Budget Orchestra Plugins: Official release

Has the source code been taken down? The source code is now included with each plugin zip (and nb_common.7z) in the src folders. (It has to be because the installer gives you the option to compile the plugins right on your own system, for an optimized version). Ah, okay. I was wondering because I w...

One can use the standalone with pulseaudio, and midi files are automatically created of everything you play. No need to set up Jack, and no need to learn to use a DAW or a sequencer.

The tools Brainstorm at http://www.sreal.com/~div/midi-utilities/ can autorecord midi.

I have heard that NVidia's drivers don't play well with the real time kernel code.

I'm using a generic kernel.

The generic kernel has been accepting a lot of the real time code recently.

No, I have an nvidia card. I purposely got a cpu without integrated graphics.

You're definitely an exception to the rule. What software are you using to play MIDI? (Obviously, you don't record midi since you don't create music).

I use my digital piano and external synths and I do record in order to see where I need to improve.
