Re: Real time audio programming (with RtAudio)

I second the suggestion to look into LV2. * You don't have to care about audio I/O, the plugin hosts takes care of that. * Same for MIDI I/O. * You don't have to take care of mapping/routing MIDI/OSC messages to parameter control, the host manages that. * You don't have to implement preset storing/l...

Will his track be played on unfa's channel, still?
For those, who - like me - missed it, unfa did a live stream playing all the challenge submissions:

Re: Libre Music Challenge #3 : B.Excellent

Congratulations to MyLoFy!

Will his track be played on unfa's channel, still?

And thanks for organizing the challenge, Rob!

Not sure, whether I will have time to participate in the next one, but I'll certainly do another one in the future.

Re: flosstudio - CC0-licensed database for FLOSS music-making programs

Obviously the end goal is to hit the repo with a PR. The problem is that you need token and a potential app would eventually need to use it to be able to PR (security, span issues) I wasn't talking about published apps, but scripts on a devs machine or in a CI setup, which would use a dedicated tok...

Re: How to list all the plugins used in an Ardour project

Thanks for bringing this up, I needed that recently too.

I would suggest posting the full source of your modified version of the script to something like gist.github.com. Manual instructions in a forum post where to edit a script in which way aren't exactly accessible and durable ;)

Re: Portable setup for recording natural sounds

Apart from a recorder, the most important thing is good wind shielding, e.g. a so-called "dead cat".

Re: flosstudio - CC0-licensed database for FLOSS music-making programs

We will build some tools to make things easier, right now we pretty much have an idea and a basic (but functional) workflow. I guess we can already go the old-school way and manage everything via git + mailing lists - our database is entirely text-based to allow that - but we don't want to cut away...

Re: flosstudio - CC0-licensed database for FLOSS music-making programs

instead we went with an accountless approach like Wikipedia's to make things easier for contributors. Here's another idea. Create a landing page for the form submission, which displays a link with a URL token. With this link the submitter can access the submission form again, update the entry (befo...

Then maybe just create a commit in a new branch for each submission and push it to Github?

Re: flosstudio - CC0-licensed database for FLOSS music-making programs

We've thought about automatically opening a Github PR for each submitted entry but they would still need to be manually checked. I think that would be a good idea. It allows the submitter to check, whether the submission arrived correctly, and to follow its status. A challenge would be handling of ...

Re: flosstudio - CC0-licensed database for FLOSS music-making programs

I just submitted an entry - where do these submission end up? What if I want to make a correction or addition? Not that I need to right now, just asking in case I do. Addendum: Also, are there any guidelines for creating screenshots? * Preferred size and aspect ratio? * With window decorations or wi...

Here are my ratings and some remarks on each track (except mine). These are as written straight down while listening to each tracks for rating it. Please forgive me, if they are sometimes a bit harsh, but I believe it is better to be honest than boring here. Chris +---+----------------+-------------...

Re: Anyone else having Ardour 6 segfaults?

Renoise and Reaper are incredibly stable so I don't believe the stuff about libs that the daw is compiled against That's a wrong logical conclusion, because Renoise and Reaper are doing exactly the same, i.e. they are compiled against certain (versions of) libraries. Only difference is, with them y...
