Very cool. That stereo delay sounded especially good with headphones.

Re: How Great Thou Art (Acoustic Gtrs/Vocal)
I'm not familiar with the original, so I just enjoyed it as what felt like a cool folk/country song! Sounds great too: I don't think it needed the majesty at all :) Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. You have a good voice, and the instrumental tracks are impeccable. Thank you. How long have you be...

How Great Thou Art (Acoustic Gtrs/Vocal)
How Great Thou Art [SoundCloud] When I was a boy this was my favorite hymn. I loved the power of it when played on a pipe organ with an entire congregation singing. It would make the hairs on your arms stand up. I wanted to see if any of that might translate to a version for acoustic guitars and so...

Re: A youtube vid.
That was very cool. I play piano, but I'm not very knowledgeable about synths. I'd love to learn more about them, though, so if you do the podcast tutorial thing definitely let us know.

Re: Theme for Cariad (soundtrack and organ fugue)
These are both excellent. That organ sounded immense, and I love the very baroque flavor of the piece. I enjoyed the string piece as well. Speaking of strings, do you have any recommendations for commercial string collections that will work on Linux? I have the VPO collection. I also have some prett...

Re: Mundi Dolore (2022-11)
Thank you for the feedback, everyone.
I'll definitely give the drums some attention as I develop this some more. As noted, at the moment they're used as little more than a metronome.

Ninety Miles An Hour (Down A Dead End Street)
It's not 100% clear to me if it's appropriate to share covers in this space. It's not an original song, but it's an original recording (i.e. by me) of my own arrangement. (If it's a problem, please let me know and I'll remove it.) The song was written by Don Robertson and Hal Blair, and was made pop...

Mundi Dolore (2022-11)
Links to recordings: Mundi Dolore [youtube] Mundi Dolore [dropbox/mp3] I recently acquired a new ES-339 guitar; this is the first recording I made with that guitar. It's not really a song, it's more like a quick recording while I was improvising and working out some melodic ideas. I may develop it f...

Re: wireless, jackd and xruns
You could try disabling wireless network scanning to see if that's the issue. You might also double check to make sure you don't have an IRQ conflict with your wifi adapter.

Very nice! Do you have a score or a lead sheet?
Edit: some parts made me think of Jim Croce's Time In A Bottle.

Re: What Linux dist could i use?¿
How stable is Manjaro compared to Debian / Ubuntu? I read quite often in the past days that you break your system much more easily with Manjaro. With any rolling release distro you need to be aware of the possibility of "breakage," but there are several things you can do to minimize the p...

Re: Robin Reddocke
I love this genre. I have an album of Scottish lute pieces from a little later, but the music was written before the Baroque counterpoint styles had really penetrated that far north so it sounds very Renaissance-y. I could listen to that stuff all day. (Actually, I have before!) Your recording is w...

Re: Far, Far Away on Judea's Plains
Very well done, milo! I enjoyed the music; both the performance and the production are excellent. I also liked your choice of instrumentation, especially the mandolin, and when the drum kicks in.
