[Solved] Re: Alsa & 1818VSL problems

It ended up to be a SystemD problem.

Once SystemD was uninstalled it started working again.

Re: ADAT Questions

I know what you want but a simple PC => USB => DEV => ADAT1 => ADAT2 is not possible. Ok you are right, I looked aqt the ADAT specification and it is clear 8 channels max. So I cannot e.g. use an interface larger than 8 channels without throwing away all channels higher than 8. Lightpipe can carry ...

Re: ADAT Questions

Thank you very much, I think you just solved my problem. I looked at Motu extensively for months and never noticed the LP32. Up to 4 parallel optical is enormous @ 48 inputs It does AVB too and does not have the unnecessary physical IO. Your suggestion now give me one dev1 as required, and adding de...

Re: ADAT Questions

What you describe is a surefire way, I agree ... It WILL work, but it is a parallel system which I try to avoid due to cost. What you describe is USB==>Dev1a===ADAT===>Dev2a PC USB==>Dev1b===ADAT===>Dev2b No way to use only one usb/ADAT device as DEV1 as below? PC==USB==>Dev1===ADAT===>Dev2===ADAT==...

[solved] ADAT Questions

Questions 1) Can I daisy chain more than two interfaces with ADAT ? Strangely cannot get an answer searching online USB nextenders and such just dont work, and since I dont have an AVB system yet, I need to use the next best namely ADAT. I want to use one usb/ADAT device (say dev1) close to my compu...

Re: midi router

From the list you provided it seems, MapCC is the closest to what I need.
I will try it thanks !

The best option I could find so far is http://das.nasophon.de/mididings/

midi router

I need an application that I can use to route and alter midi data. I am not talking about jack routing, which will not alter midi control signals, just pipe it, I need something more intelligent than that. Example. I have a production keybnoard that also controls plugins in a daw on a pc. The proble...

Re: alsa/USB problem.

Thank you for the info regarding alsa script.
I am a member of the alsa group, but it is basically dead.
No activity there and there was one post in 6 months or something other than me.
I think alsa is not going to be around for long, but I will give it a try again.

alsa/USB problem.

I have an 1818VSL I use as a soundcard. It worked flawlessly until recently. I assume an update broke alsa and it is now malconfigured. For some reason alsa or usb cannot set the 1818vsl up at 48000Hz. Why it tries to do that I dont know as the 1818VSL works at 44100kHz. The logs show the following ...

Re: Linux & Fishman TripplePlay

Why does the triple play dongle show up with two midi inputs and outputs. See the attached image. I always thought midi handles channels with only one connection and you dont need two physical midi channels for one controller. It might be that one channel is for pitch values and the other channel is...

Re: Linux & Fishman TripplePlay

I am not sure if it is USB compliant. If it is no USB compliant, then it most likely wont work with Linux.
Also, since I discuss using it on Linux, how are the string triggering sensitivity/levels etc set. That is usually done with a windows program.

Re: SOLVED: cdemu and cd players

I could get it to work finally reading metadata I had to go to preferences, Audio CD Player, then change settings to checkboxes 1,3,4 checked and 2 unchecked. Then it worked. Well thanks again for pointing me to Deadbeef. I am ditching Clementine and move over, Deadbeef just way more stable than Cle...
