Re: Tick tick when record is clicked on Audacity

One thing to check: is your USB microphone sharing the same USB hub as other "busy" hardware (e.g., mouse, hard drives, etc.)? I've found that keeping my USB interface on a separate hub reduces lots of otherwise inexplicable behavior.

To test, you can run

Code: Select all

lsusb -vt
and look for your microphone.

Maybe you are looking for the calf-fluidsynth plugin? (part of the `calf-plugins` package on Ubuntu/Debian).

Re: What makes jackdbus immune to SIGKILL?

Hmm, I can kill it with

Code: Select all

killall -9 jackdbus
.

Can you check on the ownership of the process? E.g., post the output of:

Code: Select all

$ ps -fp $(pgrep jackdbus)

Re: Spitfire Audio free sample libraries

Rainmak3r I didn't find a way to use in on its own, e.g., via command line. For me, the LinVst .deb file installed '/usr/bin/linvstconvert' (a simple GUI version) as well as '/usr/bin/linvstconvert6432' (simple Python script run via CLI) and '/usr/bin/linvstconverttree' (seems to be nearly the same...

@hdr:
How can I make it play the original note?
Could you work around the issue by adding Robin Gareus' X42 MIDI Keys Transpose filter in front of the virtual instrument, and transpose up by 12 semitones?

Re: Spitfire Audio free sample libraries

Rainmak3r : I mentioned dssi-vst because it was the only one that got it running for me at the time: festige (fst.exe on Fedora) apparently doesn't help either, the version of Carla I have comes with no Windows VST support, and I never managed to install LinVST properly. Is there any other method k...

diedeno Which version of "Spitfire Audio.exe" works with wine? Can i download it somewhere? I can confirm that the latest version (3.2.6) works with the current WineHQ wine-devel version (5.10) on my machine. If you can't upgrade to that Wine version, then you need to install a pre-3.2.x version, e...

Re: Rated Blue - "Chances Are"

Nice work! The song holds together really well. I like the bridge / interlude's use of sampled speech.

The only critique I can offer is that the panning seems a bit unbalanced: having all the guitars on the right, with everything else kind of centered, leaves the left side feeling empty.
