Re: extending parts

Spamatica - Thank you for taking the time to post an answer, I can see how much you have going on in this project. Perhaps I will soon get through the learning curve and be able to help others! Very useful help - most of your tips were not intuitive, and I did not discover them when thrashing about....

Re: extending parts

Spamatica Also, now it works on wave parts, which was the main reason I worked on this. Previously it was not possible to extend an audio part beyond where it was cut, now it can be extended as long as there is more audio data.t I'm pretty new here, and walked right into this problem, I spent anothe...

Where can I find detailed documentation for wave editor?

I am having difficulty with the track editing tools. I am a newb to using arranger, and have found the tutorial videos, and looked in the manual, but have not found information for the wave editor. My project is to import a wave file that a friend recorded, use the editor to determine and set the BP...

unable to use midi keyboard in MusE

I have installed MusE 3.2.2 on Ubuntu Studio 20.04. I have a history of success making mid connections using jack-Alsa with Yoshimi, Qsynth and others. My only problem at the moment is that I am unable to record midi in the MusE piano roll. I saw the "midi input" button. It did not help. QjackCTL ha...

Re: MusE 3.1.1 released

I am so happy to see that MusE is still being updated! I have just installed Ubuntu Studio 20.04, and Muse 3.0.2 is the most recent in the repository. While I rarely install applications from source, I downloaded muse-3.1.1.tar.gz Unzipped, opened README, and, following the instructions precisely as...

Re: Audacity recording input level control

This is an old thread. Advice was given by Pablo to use the envy24control. A replacement is available that is compatible with the M Audio Audiophile 24/96 PCI card and other ICE1712 cards. https://code.google.com/archive/p/mudita24/ https://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=14866&p=66348&hilit=...

Re: Ubuntu studio and Behringer UMC404, Jack is not my friend

Jonniejlo - Don't give up, and don't expect Jack to be your friend. Jack is a daemon, and we don't "use" Jack, we make a pact with it through its minion QjackCTL  I am having similar problems, which, as I work through this I find they are most often self inflicted. I am following this thread to...

Re: Unable to get a response from USB interface into Ardour 6 into Ubuntu Studio 20.04

Any progress? I had a similar problem last week, just trying to get sound from a microphone, through my Usb audiovox to Skype. It turned out that there are way too many volume controls in that signal chain, and I missed one because I did not know to scroll down to the bottom of the pavucontrol windo...

Re: recording pulseaudio output

I am on the PulseAudio learning curve, but I will take a turn at it. I am an engineer, with a bunch of experience with instruments that measure analog signals. I just recently read PulseAudio under the hood which has some details such as the concepts of sinks, sources, speakers. The text tells us "T...

All - While reading the advice here, and trying to work through this, I was investigating, attempting to find the manual for jackqtl. I came upon the this on page https://www.rncbc.org/drupal/node/1814 from the moment you have jackdbus rigged into the system, it just takes full control and charge of...
